Can someone help me with wiring a 89 Dakota gas tank to a 53 dodge pickup gauge. I'll have to post pictures of what the wiring looks like. I bypassed the electric pump and ran a rubber gas line in its place but I can't figure out hot to hook up the float part that tells me how much gas I have. I've ran out of gas several times.

In most fuel gauge and sender set ups, 12v goes to the gauge and from the gauge it goes to the sender which is a rheostat to ground. The gauge and sender have to be Ohm paired or you will get mixed match readings.

OK I messed with it a little I got 3 wires one is a ground the other is the sender and not sure what the other one is but if I ground 2 of the wires and one the the gauge it works if I switch them it marks the same. By the way what's ohm but thanks
