74 bronco

So this build is a little different from the norm on the forum. But general consensus was you guys wanted to tag along for the ride!

A local business owner I know in town called me and said he bought a bronco and wanted me to do some work on it, naturally I said yes. Then he sends me pics from the site he bought it off of. Yes, you read that right. He bought it online, sight unseen. With any car that isnt really a good idea, and Broncos are horrible for rust and what not.

Long story short, it finally showed up. It wasnt anything you was told it was. Didnt run worth a crap, floor had iffy patch panels already done, fuel tank had some mystery fluid besides gas in it and the body didnt zir very well on the frame.

So I went and grabbed it and drug it home. A few short minutes later I called him and told him the bad news. The motor was no good and the frame was bent in 2 spots!!!!! The rear suspension had been hacked off and re attached with some sort of welding lol. More or less it was a polished pile of poo.

So a few days went by and many conversations later and it was decided that it was now not just a repaint and refresh but a 100% custom ground up build!!! More my style for sure!

It is getting a new front clip, new frame, new suspension (we will visit that at a later date) a coyote 5.0 and trans along with every little custom doodad you can think of.

We tore the bronco down last weekend for further inspection. It is going next friday to get dipped to remove all the paint and stuff from the shell.

Many, I also did a very polite non bashing video on the Bronco. It was a 15-minute walk around and explanation on why you should always look at something in person before you buy it. I didn't mention the owner's name I didn't mention the company he bought it from in the video. It was just a buyer beware kind of thing. I have not uploaded it publicly to YouTube I gave it to the owner and told him if he wanted to use it for a bargaining chip that was up to him. They were playing Hardball and did not want to work with him at all, then he showed them the video. He explained to them that the Builder who is redoing the Bronco made it and it was not to be released as long as they cooperated with him. Now I said I did not mention their name in the video but they're decal across the back glass was very clearly multiple times lol. They are working on a solution with him as we speak. I do believe he's at least going to get some money back for the motor that was supposed to be good. It will be plenty to compensate for the coyote LOL

never a clever thing to do , buy wheels unseen. Sure this can happen when the car was owned by someone who just had no clue what he owned, but a company selling crap that way...that just ****es me off

I like your style, LB50. Glad justice is being served to some extent. That said, "buyer beware" is always in effect. Hopefully, in the end, all (buyer and seller) will have learned an important lesson.

I believe my customer did. I told him that next time a plane ticket is way cheaper than a pile of junk, and I'm always ul for a trip to look at cars!

Well we started the parts extravaganza today! The new frame, coyote motor, and parts of the suspension got ordered!!!!!!!!

Here is a pic of the frame we are using. It got ordered with a few les goodies than shown in the pic. That is so we can do our suspension setup we are working on. Bc bronco seems to be the for runner in the coyote implant in these little truck, so we are ordering stuff for motor mounts, power steering, trans mount and a handful of other goodies.

We are using James duff long arm front links and there 4 link kit in the rear. The springs are going to be a surprise until we get things figured out.

So hopefully soon we will have parts rolling in!!!

I was thinking more like 5 gallons of gas in a match! But it's in the middle of Fire season so that's probably not a good idea. We are actually calling it down to a place tomorrow to get chemically dipped to remove all that nonsense
