Slow progress working on it. Cab needs to move back slightly then getting going on motor location and roll cage.

Picked up a mock up ls block, working on sorting out motor and trans locations. Trying to incorporate cross member locations, with seat mounting locations ect but its not working out that great.

Back it working on roll cage. Finally settled on this arrangement, tried a halo bar didn't like it.
I have seen a lot of early car cages that look like they could be tucked tighter (but were probably as tight as they could get a welder to). I have never tried to do it.

Unless the frame rail is directly below the down tube. I believe NHRA allows an incomplete weld around the top with specified additional bracing.

Welding those roll cages completely is a lot easier without a car roof in the way.

Back in the day, I cut more then a few roofs off of race cars, welded up the cages, then welded the roof back on. It wasn't as hard as it sounds.

Outside, should look ok once there is some kind of a bed mocked up. Plans are for a grill shell and hood with a scoop on the carb.
