MACKAZs 22 Buick model 45 Rat

Had a play around yesterday. Dad scored some sheet steel off an industrial electrical switchboard cabinet from the yard. Its clean save for a few drilled holes that I will weld up later. Made a template out of cardboard and traced it out. Cut it out with a zipdisk and dressed it up so its a nice...

Reliability: how far would you drive you're rod from home?

I would think nothing of driving length of New Zealand in mine once finished. Holden 6s are the most reliable engine around....

Seems like that's the case, well, from what Ive read in our Hobby Car Manual. I know of plenty of rods with modified bits on the road, but all rods built after 2002 have to apply to a different set of rules. Many are just downright unsafe but the rules don't apply to them. The only way to be rid...

    A Real Barn Find

You horrible people!!!!! I'm disgusted with the fact stuff like this is still out there!!! In New Zealand even finding a good condition 80s Japanese or Australian barn find car is extremely rare. Most have gone to scrap years ago (or demo derbied, which I am extremely guilty of). Even my Dad...

Everything is L200 Mitsubishi, column, brake booster/ master cylinder and pedalbox. Took a lot of thinking to get it in unmodified, even the steering shafts/universal joints are 100% unmodified Mitsi parts. The only thing that will be is the brake pedal as I cant find an auto pedal to go into it.

Spanner in the works Two days ago I managed to drop the sharp windscreen corner of a car bonnet (hood) halfway:eek: thru my left foot resulting in a 4 hour wait at the ER to get it cleaned up and stitched up. Now off work for a week. Another visit to the docs today because it puffed up...

Desribe the perfect car from your past.

I used to be a fan of Rotary engined Mazdas, had heaps of them. I had a rotary powered rwd 78 323. That car in New Zealand would be worth 15-20k now, sold it for $1000 with no repower cert. It went like stink.

Sedans chopped will be fine. I need a few just to check proportions. Anything thats got two rows of seats basically, found this. . Anything sort of like that.

    49 chevy rat

Looking good mate. As per the PM weld it up, if you been ticketed your welding will most certainly be up to scratch. Remember new scratch built chassis welds are not to be ground off.....The welding we have done on my chassis is a country mile tidier than the factory stuff....
