More progress today. Putting your projwect back together is alot of fun, because you know its just a matter of time before you hit the road with it. Here are some photos of the running boards installed, and my unique way of holding the seals in place while the black adhesive sets good.

Brother , it's called rich brown low gloss from Urekem paints. I have used their epoxy and paint on two projects so far and love it. Their 2K primer goes on nice and deep, so you can block it out smooth. Love the epoxy too.

    my 49 ford truck

I here ya. I went with flat brown on mine . Didn't take alot of time to perfect body. I think a truck looks better with a few imperfections. I plan on driving mine , not showing it.

Weather made it nice to spray epoxy today. Got everything that was in bare metal sprayed today. Will let that cure, then start what little body work there is to do.

Thought I would post a couple of progress photos, been a while. So, I found out this baby had about 6 coats of paint along with primer between a few of the coats. I just decided to strip the paint, using stripper bought at Lowes. I applied the stripper, let it set for a bit, then used my 4000...

Yep, I plan on leaving the hodd in tact, but removing the hood springs. Also plan on building a better hood latch than stock. My Fairlane left out of my driveway this morning for good. The guy who bought it couldn't be happier. He sent me a message when he got to Savannah telling me how many...

Well, even though I know I could do it, and make it look good, I have abandoned that idea. I had planned on not splitting the hood. But, rather use the two sides and leave the center that is about 12' wide at the rear and narrows at the front. I have done this before ,and it turned out looking...

Ok, one thing that I was thinking about doing on this truck. I'd like to get some opinions on this also. I know there are ways to make the hood on the F1 Fords more sturdy, and there is also a front hinged hood option. But, what I was thinking about doing may be a little different. I'm thinking...

Yep, guys I think I'm on the right track with the wheels. I plan on using 16" steelies with wider tires on the rear. I definitely have F2 fenders on this beast. I was looking at F1 trucks this morning after it was mentioned that my fenders lloked other than F1 fenders. I didnt even notice until...

You know what, I believe you are right. It got me to looking at the gap between the running boards and the inside edge of the fender. These fenders may have come off of a larger truck. That tells me that I may have to go to a larger wheel ,like 16" 0r 18". I thought thwere was a little more room...
