Nice work so far. I'm working on a 48 right now. Stripped 6 layers of paint off that sucker. 70 years old, I guess what do you expect. Perserved the steel though:eek:

With this one, I'm not trying to have any semblance of perfect paint, where I would have to worry about someone scratching it. Rattle can black all the way.

I here ya. I went with flat brown on mine . Didn't take alot of time to perfect body. I think a truck looks better with a few imperfections. I plan on driving mine , not showing it.

been going thru alot of thought process, only small amounts of work done.

decided on going with flat trailer type fenders, love the look of the flat fender jeeps which influenced me. will cut the corners and stretch the length, re-weld the cuts to be able to connect to the running board and a new support added near the back.

also found a tow bar that will work, can't be a working truck without the ability to tow.[;)[;)[;)

got one side done...with the front and rear brackets.

now to duplicate on the other side, hopefully it won't take a couple of weeks like this side. not the fastest fabricator.

Just a quick add, finally finishing up the support for the wood bed.

I needed a couple additional steel supports at the center area. Found some thick round stock at the local steel yard. Added some angles at each end for support.

I wanted these two to be removable, didn't count on the bed frame I used being hardened. After some research found these at HF, should have seen the smoke coming off of the last bit of drilling action.

My next hurdle is the wiring, my weak point. I've been studying, coming up with parts and a plan. Hopefully it will work out.

A little bad news was the center gauge cluster, didn't know exactly how they come out kept prying on the edge until the glass broke then the speedo bit the dust. Looks like I need to find me a replacement speedo of the low speed variety, maybe a 80 or 90 mph. There is a car/parts swap meet coming the end of the month south of me, maybe I will get lucky.
