Here in Australia in the 50's I was told you could only build a hotrod out of a ford. Also mudguards (or fenders) could not be used on a hotrod)
So logically if hotrods are all fords then Chevvy's and Dodges must be rats [ddd
I have used spider bombs on wasps, tape the can to a suitable length stick,
set it off and whack the stick in place so the c an sprays the nest and go inside before there is a swarm.

next time you finish using the car disconnect the battery and see how hot the relay feels then and also after waiting a comparable period.
If it is cold there is likely a leakage current which may lead to problems in due course.
