Hi Skull

I have never had anything really old to drive on the roadways...what happens when you take something odd out on the road??

I have a 1947 CJ2A I am currently waiting for the JC Taylor folks to bless me with insurance...then I can drive it on the road legally...

people will tell you how cool it is and want to look at it.

one lady about 65 years old told me she lost her virginity in a 1965 chevelle wagon like mine, way too much info

one elderly gentleman said he was the mechanic in Korea on all the dodge trucks like mine and the U S left a lot of them when everyone came home.

so be prepared for this kind of stuff and a lot more, but it is fun to talk to the people and hear there stories.:D

The thrill NEVER wears off. I have been driving old cars/hot rods for more than 50 years, and when I turn the key today it is like the very first time. When I let out the clutch and push down a little on the gas it is so different than my daily driver, a little tap rockets you ahead with no hesitation. You feel like Superman because you know there are few cars you line up with at lights that are quicker, and even those back off when they see a couple of big carbs sitting on top of a chromed out motor.

If it is an open car you get all the sights, sounds , and smells that are around you, and the night cool air is just the best. Last night my Son and I took our roadsters to Ft Myers Beach for a late night dinner again, and I uncorked the headers. As we drove down the main street everyone was looking and flash bulbs were going off, it is like a celebrity is making a grand entrance. :D

That is something you have to get used to, talking with people. You will constantly be approached by strangers with questions and compliments, and that is really fun. Just wait till you get yours on the road.
