Elegant decay aka the "Ratty Caddy."

Nice work, love the Caddy! My chev has some similar issues that were glassed and patched in the past. My trunk is still unfinished, covered in carpet. When I replaced the fuel sending unit, I just cut a little more to get to it.

    What ya grilling?

Nice! Too hot to grill here in Fla. Most of my cooking is quick saute or pan seared in air conditioned comfort. I have the 20 minute recipes from back in the day where I would come home from work and cook for the fam, wife cleaned up the mess  The last time I used a grill was when...

    earthman's actual ratrod foto thread

Didnt catch this thread but its an old one and a great one. As much as I would like to find and have a 30's style rat rod I am also drawn to the 50's cars as I own one and that is mostly what I grew up with and got interested in. ...speaking of which...can you fix the link of the 49-51? Ford in...

One of these days I would like to do a trip like this, looks like a blast and getting to meet the folks here. The farthest I have gone with mine so far is usually just over an hour away, or 160 miles round trip....continue! [cl[cl[cl

I do this almost every day. I go to Craigs cars for sale, type in the year, usually I start around 1949, and go up to 1980. Sometimes i will type in rat rods, or corvette, jeep cherokees of the little boxy version or commanche Now and then there are driveable deals, or a lot of piles of rust or...

Anybody set time lines to get stuff done?

When I first got the old chev I thought just owning it was good enough, and it was just something to tinker with. That didn’t last long. I was out there everyday making it at least driveable. Then once that happened I spent another month making it safe, followed by making it perform. Now that...

    bored

I lost my dad when he was 58, never got to it. I took mine at 63 1/2, (40 years in manufacturing and plant engineering) but I still washed dishes part time at a country club until I was 67. Now I discovered that a limb broke off a laurel oak and is laying on my shed that has the car parts in...

    Cars in the Hills

The Essex avatar pic looks almost the same, to clear it up, what I was saying is I like the Dodge roof/cab you have. Wife's family is from North Bay, Ontario, been there twice. I thought that was the Arctic circle. Others live in Blind River.

    bored

Well congrats on the retirement deal! I have been since Feb of 2019. I have to be somewhat frugal with project cash, so only one project under a barn lean to, and just enough to keep it on the road. Just spent 27 bux on a Hurst Promatic spring repair kit. What scares me now since I live...

    Treed 4

Great shots! I have armadillos all over the place. And holes in my yard. They seem kind of use to people...and even my dog. My cats don't know what to do with them so they stare at each other. Would rather have the deer. .
