Jamajar, the master cylinder is an aftermarket street rod master cylinder, I buy them on e-bay. They are kind of a copy of the corvette master cylinder, you can get them for disc and drum or for drum (front) drum (rear) or disc (front) disc (rear). I use them with a proportioning valve from...

    Rubber transmission dipstick

One problem you have fitting a transmission tunnel tight to the transmission to save room in the car is the dip stick. Here is a solution. Start by measuring your dip stick and tube. Cut about 2 1/2 inches off the tube at each end. make 2 fittings that fit your tube ends and go down to 3/8...

Installing a fuel guage sending unit in a speedway plastic tank

Thanks for the heads up, Don. I never thought about that happening with a vaccuum, only ever used a vaccuum with new tanks. Good to know.

Installing a fuel guage sending unit in a speedway plastic tank

Start by measuring the location of the 1/4 inch pipe fitting outlet in the bottom of the tank. Locate the fuel sender directly above it. Drill a hole in the top of the tank the size of the hole in the gasket. Locate the sender the way you want it to face so it does not hit the side of the...

http:/flic.kr/p/cp9g65 most of the people I hang with are into cars and like to change things. I have more cars, motorcycles and boats than I have time for. Me and my wife Lee build these cars because we enjoy it. We will drive this car for a short period of time and some one I know will end...

5 pounds of seat in a 4 pound car

I have never tried narrowing the front and not the back, but the seat tracks have to run straight with each other so if you just narrow the front it probably would work. But you would have to re-drill and move your seat tracks so they run straight. If it does not work, you can always weld them...

We got more progress done, got the seats narrowed (posted how to do on "5 pounds of seat in a 4 pound car") and installed, the shifter installed, the gas pedal installed, the battery box cut in and installed and mounts for the fan. We put the seat info seperately to help others that are not...

5 pounds of seat in a 4 pound car

All the upholstry is pulled tighter because the frame is smaller where it attaches to, the foam rubber squishes together because of this, holding everything in place.

5 pounds of seat in a 4 pound car

On some of your highly channeled cars with large tunnels here is some pics of how to cut seats down to fit the car without messing up the upolstry. We took 3 inches out of these seats by removing the upolstry and cutting the metal frame 3 inches out of the center, then welding it back together...

Thanks for all the kind words! We got the transmission tunnel done today. By bending it to the shape of the bell housing instead of round we gained about 2 more inches inside the car. Had to put a couple of round bumps in the side to clear the transmission pan, because it sets so high, but...

We have been working right along, haven't had time to post. We got the firewall done, steering column complete, brake pedal and master cylinder installed, altenator bracket fabed to fit under the hood (needed to flip the altenator upside-down to clear the hood), fabed a metal glove box and...
