    SAFETY FIRST FELLA'S !!!GRAFFIC PICTURES!!!

I was using a 3" cutoff wheel once that self destructed. When the wheel came apart, part of it hit my face. I got an instant headache, and my safety glass went flying, but no blood. When I found my safety glasses, they were split in 1/2 right at the bridge over my nose! The chunk of wheel struck...

    1929 Model A Drag truck

Any one that has actually been involved with a build knows how it works. There are times it just doesn't look like much has been accomplished, but things are moving along. That said, sometimes the reporting of the accomplishments may be slacking.....;)

So what do we do for seating these days??

Might want to look into fishing boat seats. Some have a swivel base and are pretty small, and cheap.

So what do we do for seating these days??

2nd row Chrysler mini van bucket seats. I do like the stow & go seats! Cheap, usually in great shape, most have removable arm rests and removable head rest, and many have the seat belt mounting brackets in the pedestal. Cut the bottom of for the height off the floor you need them and weld on...

    Christmas lights

My wife is in charge of Christmas decoration (and every other decoration that happens around here) I get to help her do what she thinks is right. Usually, outside decorating was done by the end of Oct, but wouldn't be lit up until Dec 1st (her rule). The last 4 or 5 years, the amount of outside...

Not the way a Sunday should go!

Well, that sucks for everyone involved, happy to hear no one but the bear was injured. I slightly remember crashing Dad's car a couple weeks after I got my license. No one got hurt in the crash, and I drove the car home with a huge dent in the door. A lady pulled out of a parking place as I was...

Front End Fridays: Let's see 'um!

It happened really fast. I had just made a trip to the Post Office and was heading home, at a bit after 8:30 am on a bright sunny October morning, I was about 4 blocks from home. The street I was on was a 4 lane street without a center divider. She was in a line of cars when she made her left...

Front End Fridays: Let's see 'um!

I just found these old pictures, so these are pictures of pictures, so sorry about the lack of sharpness. These are the same truck in that last picture of the groups in my post above. These 3 pictures were taken about 8 months after the picture with the coupe on the trailer was taken. I did buy...

    Junk parts everywhere...

Absolutely, we need to hear about the business people that do good work and treat their customers with respect. They are the people that deserve our business, and our recommendation to others seeking the work they do. I agree, referrals are the very best form of advertising. It served me well...

    Nov 7-8 2024 Snow Storm!

Thanks, that makes sense to me. My BIL lives just northwest of Denver. They can get 2' of snow today and it may be gone in a couple of days, or may not be gone for a couple of weeks.

1930 Dodge truck, not a Fargo

Metal is metal. What it was originally used for doesn't make much difference. As long as it is a good gauge thickness to do the job, and can be cleaned up enough to weld to, its all good. Those old cabinet doors were probably baked enamel, they are going to be around for a long time.

    Tis the season

My buddy uses the playing card trick, he has good luck (I think he lets the air out of the tire before he shoves the cards in between the wheel and the tire). I was not impressed the couple times i tried it, but then painting isn't my strong suit to start with, could have been an operator...

The picture worked out great! The booth bench looks pretty good.

    1957 F100 build

I'm happy to report our terms match up on the axle flip. On the front, the leafs that are above the main leaf don't add much support (as they are now, they are just lifting the axle off the main leaf), but I am assuming the leafs above the main are the shorter leafs, so you should be OK. You...

    Nov 7-8 2024 Snow Storm!

WOW! Was this unusual, or do you often get snow in the winter? I always thought NM was a "warm weather state", do you live in the northern part?

    1957 F100 build

It appears the terms we are using may not mean the same to you as they mean to me. Please help me understand what your terms mean, so we are both talking the same thing. I'm an old auto tech, we had specific meanings for specific words. I just want to be sure we are both thinking the same way...

So, I know you said you wanted it slammed, but raising the cab up makes the job a lot easier. I've done either way several times. That 86 is not going to be easy to slam. Is it a 4x4? Do you intend to keep it a 4x4 (if it is now)?<I turned this 50 Dodge 2 ton truck in to this v 1950 Dodge 4x4...

    Back to forums!

Welcome from the north west corner of IL. Concerning that front axle moved above the springs, the oil pan clearance would be my biggest concern. There needs to be 3" to 4" of air space between the bottom of the oil pan, and anything that may contact it, then you need to pay attention on the...
