I'm not a Ford guy, but I have done a few frame swaps, and I have done a few suspension swaps on to different frames. Both can be pretty challenging experiences each, by themselves, and now you are thinking about adding the two together. Not saying you can't do it, but then I don't know how much...

    Hole in the head project

I'm getting a batter idea of what you are dealing with now, those pictures helped a lot. Its really not far from what I was thinking. Most of the modern cars have subframes bolted to a unibody shell. Mopar has been doing that since the very early 60s. I have never seen an LS motor from the...

    Hole in the head project

Guess maybe I'm not getting the full picture of what you are doing. Just keep in mind the both upper control arms are attached to that crossmember you have cut all the upper strength out of. If you don't add that upper bracing back in, the control arms will roll the frame rails. The tube...

    1940's International Crew Cab Diesel

Life has a way of throwing curve balls at us for sure. Happy to see your back on track now. When I had the chance to read some of my old build posts (on other forums before I got here), it does have a way of reminding you what you were thinking and planning about then. Its even cleared up a...

    Hole in the head project

Sorry, but it doesn't give this guy a very warm fuzzy feeling, especially with the control arms attached to the nearly completely missing cross member. I'll be watching how you brace this one. Is there an inch and a half clearance under the original crossmember that can be used to brace it...

Welcome to the board. Can't help you on that front end, would need much closer pictures. Lots of "custom" designs appearing these days. Some may be OK, some are down right dangerous, many make you scratch your head and wonder what they were thinking.

    Diabetes

My son was on insulin for several years, then he decided to do something about it. He started out walking on the treadmill 2 hours a day, changed his medicine and changed his diet. In 2 years time, under a doctors watch, he lost 1/2 of his body weight! He went from 370lbs down to 185lbs. his...

    1 More Day

You and the dogs will adjust, but it may take a while. My retirement was officially Oct 1 2018. Now the dog lets us know if we are not up by 8 am. We still set DR appointments and a few other things so we are the 1st appointment of the day (better chance of getting an and out nearly on time)...

I suspect tomorrow morning is going to be an all new experience. I suggest you sleep in at least a 1/2 hour past the time your alarm normally goes off!

    Some sunrise pictures

Several people I know took pictures of the entire sky lit up with the Northern Lights from a place about 20 miles from where I'm sitting right now, just a week or so ago. I didn't see them. I'm right on the north edge of town (the country is behind my house), but there is still too much man...

    just some fun pix

I am what most people would call an observer. I tend to watch what happens with almost everything. I can tell you for sure, not many people know what is going on right next to themselves, most of the time. I've seen some people tell others exactly what they are going to do, but most of those...

    Some sunrise pictures

We still have our porch swing up, but the weather has made a pretty hard change the last few days. its not so much fun sitting on that swing in my winter coat, probably going to have to put it away for the winter soon. We put the swing away every year when I bring up the snow blower. At my...

    Hi, my name is brian

We have a few of those people around here as well. I was thinking about them when I posted that last line. If they can do it, so can I (without the DUI).

    1929 Model A Drag truck

Welding those roll cages completely is a lot easier without a car roof in the way. Back in the day, I cut more then a few roofs off of race cars, welded up the cages, then welded the roof back on. It wasn't as hard as it sounds.

One nice thing about retirement is that you don't have to be too many places on a set schedule, unless you want to be. You can have that extra cup of whatever you like to drink instead of having to jump up and run someplace. You get to be as busy as you want to be, when you want to be busy. It...

    Hi, my name is brian

Nothing here new enough to have any of that stuff, and that is the way i intend it to stay. I don't have room for horses, guess I'll be cruising around on my lawn mower.

    Buffum

We had a dirt track here on the edge of town until about 8 years ago. They raced the old coupes there until I was about 10 (1967ish), then they switched over to the "late models". That vision of those old coupes coming off the 4th turn and coming down the front straight to get the green flag...

The clean up sucks, but that is the best possible outcome for no oil pressure.
