    Paining an aluminum radiator ?

Here's the proper stuff. I need to do this too. What would the prep be on the shiny aluminum upper/lower tanks? Eastwood radiator paint

    Coil over shocks

Let me offer up a budget coilover alternative. I couldn't see spending big bucks on aftermarket units so I hit the local Pick-N-Pull to see what I could find. An '88 Subaru station wagon gave up it's coilovers. $18 for the pair. I replaced the shocks for another $60. A lot cheaper than the...

    Budget turbo build input wanted.

Well, I'm partial to the Garrett T3 turbos offered by Ford on the TurboCoupe's and SVO Mustangs but their little 4cyls are 140 ci x 2 would only be 280 ci. You probably need something bigger. Some of the diesel turbos may work.

    Force fed four.

The motor originally came in an '88 Thunderbird Turbo Coupe. It powered my '89 Mustang ragtop for the last 4 years until Bozo the clown rearended me and totaled the Mustang!

    Force fed four.

Yep, 200hp stock. The blocks been bored .030, Wiseco pistons, Crower rods, balanced and blueprinted, Boport head, Ranger roller cam, Bob's log, ported/gutted/rotated mannys, T3, 3" exhaust........the list goes on! The build thread is in my sig..............

    Force fed four.

New category! OK I'll start. Plopped between the rails of my all steel '27 T is a turbocharged and intercooled 2.3 liter. Roughly 350 hp at the flywheel. Currently, under construction. Anyone else?

    building a metal T body

Here's a tip. Mid-80's to mid-90's Chevy van hoods have the perfect curvature for '26-'27 bun panels. Add some repro lower panels, fab some door jambs and top railings and you've got bun panels.

    The Other Woman('69 Dart)

That's an awesome Dart! I've always loved the looks of the '69 A-bodies. Here's a couple of pics of mine before I sold it.................

    dummy engine blockCa

I should have been more clear. I put the wood and cardboard concoction together at the beginning of my build to set basic proportions such as engine height, body and rad placement, wheelbase, etc. Once I had the frame and suspension together and was ready for drivetrain placement I found and...

    dummy engine blockCa

Pretty easy to make a mock-up block. I built a frame outta 1"x2" strapping and joined it together with my air powered brad nailer. Then I cut pieces of cardboard and attached them with my air powered stapler. Took about an hour. Thing weighs like 5 lbs.

    Hung from coils ?

I've posted this before but I'm sold on my setup. Junkyard parts. Coilovers - '88 Subaru wagon - $18 pair. Trailing arms - '99 Land Rover Discovery - $33 pair (half price day). Panhard bar - '01 Kia Sportage trailing arm (cutdown) $23. Granted, they're not coil springs but cheap and effective!

junk yard cooling fan?? best donor car

I ran a beast of a fan on my Mustang that did some serious cooling. 18"W x 16"H. Came off a '90 Thunderbird Super Coupe. $12.50 on Pick-N-Pull's half price day!

    Roadster radiator placement.

All good ideas! I'm out of town right now so I can't really measure. If memory serves, the track nose is 18" or 19" wide. A Mustang rad might possibly work although I'd have to extend the nose back and out a little with some sort of flaps. My main concern is adequate air flow. The nose...

    Roadster radiator placement.

I'm asking this question on a couple of forums 'cause I need some input. The roadster's been on hold for awhile while I get other projects outta the way but I'm about ready to get back into it. One of my big concerns is radiator placement. Right now I have a Geo Metro rad mounted and after...

1928 Pierce Arrow frame z'ing question

Johnny, are you gonna do a small Z in the front, like mine or Z it at the firewall? Either way, how about using 2"x 3" rec tubing for the stacked part of the frame? That way you're looking at 10-1/2" total height as opposed to 15". Also, remember the higher you make the spring perch the lower...

    Wiring what you did Right/Wrong?

Add a daub of solder to the end, wrap the body with electrical tape (Scotch 88) then slide a length of shrinkwrap tubing over the connection and heat it evenly so it shrinks tightly around the connection. Now you have a tight, insulated, crimped and soldered professional looking splice! Don't...

    Wiring what you did Right/Wrong?

No offense meant to Junker39, as I'm sure this works for him but it's not how I'd do it. The brightly colored plastic connectors just make any wiring job look plain cheesy, IMHO. I like to crimp, solder, tape then shrinkwrap. It just makes things more easy to organize and looks much more...
