    just some fun pix

the torqueflite trans will do that explosive mess when the rear sprag would lose control of the rear drum causing the forward drum to accelerate to 3 times the engine rpm, and explode at about 15,000 rpm.

    So what is a Thunderbaker?

When I saw the title, I thought "really loud oven?" but after seeing the pictures, I'm thinking "Giant Road Turd" every encyclopedia has a new picture for the definition of UG-U-LEE!!!! whoever built it should find a better use of their time. and get some glasses, as there is no angle that...

    Kool Car Photos!

on the stock Vista Cruiser the tail gate flips down, and the window up. the T-Bird has no tailgate, so if you made the rear window the same height as the side windows, you would have a very high lift over to put things in the back. OK for groceries, but kinda high for heavy stuff.

Carb Spacers, Are They A Good Idea?

if it is a 4 hole spacer, you might gain a few lbs-ft of low end torque, if it is 1 big square hole it will kill a s___t load of low rpm torque but may give you a little higher top rpm. the only reason to run a 2" 1 hole spacer is if you are class restricted to a very small cfm carb, the big...

    A penetrating oil tip!

everything old is new again. we were using this 50/50 acetone/atf mix way back in the 70's as a starting fluid, rusted cylinder cure. pour it down the carb while turning motor, if it would move or just pouring as much as we could get in thru the spark plug hole, let soak, repeat. scary good...

Who can answer a CDL question?

those air bags only tell an on-looker that it has air ride it's the declared GVW that matters, if you have a title that says 16000 GVW, you are all set, just put a real toilet in it and a real stove and you can license it as an RV, no one will ever stop you. not even a weigh station.

    1959 Impala vs 2009 Malibu

sorry, but that's not frame twist, the body is straight as can be, if it was frame twist the back would be more level. we can see the full roll cage through the windshield, it should be mounted to outriggers, and the out riggers would be tied to the inner rockers, the roll cage is stopping most...

    Neutralizing Gas

using a vehicle outside stick a hose connected to a running car's tail pipe, and the other end of the hose into the tank and let the car run until all the gas has evaporated. between the heat of the exhaust and the carbon monoxide, it should be safe to clean and weld on if need be.

    Big Block Bantam

how's about a gas tank disguised as a high mounted wing at the top rear of the cab, it would be up out of harms way, look cool as hell, provide shade in the summer.

    Front brakes not working??

those are "sliding abutment style" front calipers, these work OK as long as you lube the **** out of them. I used a EP wheel bearing grease (extreme pressure), along with taking a coarse flat file to the groove and all the surfaces on the caliper and mount touched by the slides and the anti...
