    Local show

The black 57 belongs to a friend of mine, a retired banker and active car guy. It’s been on two or three Power Tours, 327 4 speed. He’s also got a 62 409 4 speed Biscayne, a stone stock 48 Chevy aero coupe, a 78 C10 swb he bought new, and others I can’t think of right now. The red car beside me...

    Really?!?!

I do too, but I have to drive 15 miles to get to a decent sized small town! My little town has a grocery store, two gas stations, a auto parts and hardware store, a Dollar General that also sells groceries, a mechanic shop if you can get him to do anything, a post office, two good restaurants...

Sad, but true. This country boy could never survive in town, much less a city...

Does anyone use Grundy or another ins co?

Trip, I've been with Grundy over 10 years now with several different cars. I've only had one claim other than a few towing bills, and that was when I accidently broke the rear glass on the Firebird. They connected me with the folks they use for glass, Safelite, who told me they couldn't get that...

    Really?!?!

Ahhh, follow the money trail…. Everything here is taxed on value. They look at your bill of sale, and charge tax on what you paid for it, then at renewal time they charge according to pre determined value that is in the system. If you buy vintage tags, you pay once, then never have to register...

    Really?!?!

What difference does the miles on an odometer on a totally rebuilt car that probably has a different engine and driveline in it matter? A lot of folks put in all new speedometers and start out with zero mileage, and a lot of the ones still using the original ones don't work anyway, haven't in...

    Exhaust pipe expanding

Not many muffler shops around here anymore either. With the better quality tubing, a lot of it stainless, cars don’t need new exhaust systems every few years anymore. My 94 Ranger and my 99 F150 are still using the factory pipes all these years later! Another thing, not many V8 cars around...

    Wild nature today

Been pretty lucky around here, haven’t seen a snake in a while. But, while we we cleaning out the portable building I recently bought, I was dragging stuff out of cardboard boxes and drug out a large snake skin. I about crapped my pants! Then, a little while later that same day, as we were...

    Exhaust pipe expanding

As per the instruction sheet and what I read on the web, I greased the crap out of mine. It broke the cast expansion pieces when I put pressure on it. It might have worked on a piece of swing set pipe, but exhaust tubing was too much for it. Granted, it came from Harbor Freight, so it...

    Exhaust pipe expanding

If you had a good tool, they work ok. I bought a Harbor Freight close out tool, it didn’t make it through expanding one use on a piece of 2.25” exhaust pipe. I ended up butt cutting and welding.

    Old Tires

I’m like bobw, I’ve got more in the woods than I should have. Most of mine are semi truck tires, some I had saved to recap but never got around to, some were’t usable as cores but I wasn’t paying $50 disposal fees. A few are regular passenger tires. I toss one of the smaller ones on brush piles...

    Really?!?!

A lot of them have. Same thing with parts of the northeast, especially NYC. With bans like those, there will be a lot more of them stopping at the state line. They have already made it illegal to run trucks made before a certain year model, it’s just another step to them to ban all internal...

    Really?!?!

It never ceases to amaze me the stupidity that comes from the Cali government. This is a train wreck happening before our eyes. Cali will implode from inside.

My 40 Dodge Truck Build - Maybe a 41 LOL

I like the idea of dark blue on the frame. Most are black or body color, the contrast should look good.[P[cl

Easiest way to find a broken wire?

I’ve always hated working on what I can’t see working, electricity in a wire, fluids in a hose or pipe. I have to try and visualize what’s going on and why something works or doesn’t. Sometimes I get it right quickly and sometimes it takes a while. I’m pretty darn stubborn, but I do get stumped...
