Long awaited joining of two halves

Nice Great work, I like it. So, are you planning to make more of these with the molds you created? The molds look really nice from the photos.

    Welding Questions

Without any indication of what you plan to do, the advice is limited. Sheet metal, frames, any prior experience, MIG, TIG??? Here is my story. Not too long ago I took a short welding safety class at our local maker space and decided that I needed to buy a machine myself. The maker space is ~30...

    Chevy/Reo?

I think it would look good in red oxide primer. That would provide some protection without looking like you are trying too hard. Additionally, if you decide on another top coat later it would be ~easy. Red primer would look good with copper and brass accents.

We are preoccupied by the same thing over here. No 4 car garage for me but I am getting a little more workshop space. Back to packing boxes.

    Hobart 120 HELP

I am also a rookie welder and have had intermittent problems with the machine I have... but the biggest problem is that I went cheap with a 110v machine. There were lots of considerations -- cost, lack of 220 in the garage, etc -- but now that I am getting a little better it sure would be nice...

    Hobart 120 HELP

I am not sure how the spool attaches but make sure it can move freely and is not "overly tight" causing the feed rollers to slip or stall. Another thought, is the tip the correct size and clean so that the wire can move through the entire system easily?

Thanks for the leads, links, and photos. It has been a few days since I visited and this was a nice surprise.

    sgtpontiac logo

I could add some flames OR I could look for a font similar to the GMC logo... OR SARGE would look cool in a Chevy Bowtie ;)

    sgtpontiac logo

$ I did not want to make the S look to much like a $ but can add more bars either horizontal or vertical. Can you find a photo of the cell door you have in mind?

    sgtpontiac logo

So... there was some discussion in another thread about a logo for "Sarge". I had a few minutes (only a few) and started this. The intent is to plasma/laser cut it out for the back of his truck so things need to be connected in one way or another. Thoughts?

    Chevy/Reo?

Thanks jfg455, thanks for knocking those out. I will keep it as a memento of RRR. It is easy to sit at the computer and draw up a logo. Bob is the one doing all the hard work. I can't wait to see the next installment.

    Chevy/Reo?

The problem with the E is not a big deal, there is just a little extra material on the top of the center part.

    Cedar Strip Body

I have been dreaming about a cedar strip bodied roadster. Any photos/build information out there to help fuel or quel these dreams? I have not built a cedar strip canoe but consider it within my abilities.
