Fore! Golf cart to mini rod #2

Here we go again. Got bored waiting for another car project to come my way so I picked up another golf cart to morph into a mini sized hot rod. This one's a 48 volt 98 Club Car so it has more torque than the 36 Volt one I used last time. When I'm in Az in the winter, the mini T gets driven daily but I've had the itch to build something different to take there.
New layout on this one, moving the batteries back to lower the seating, I'll bang together a 32 ish steel body - 90" wheelbase, 120" overall length.

Got started building the frame. Simple 2x3 rails, 10" rear kickup, rails tapered to 2x2 at the front end. To keep it simple, using the Club Car rear leaf springs, batteries will mount in front of and behind the rear diff.

This one will be the new daily cruiser when on holidays, selling the first one to a friend in Az.

yep, never seen pictures of the first one before......... pretty freakin cool!!! I would drive that everywhere!!!

Only had a couple hours on it today but got the battery trays figured out and tacked in. Also bent a piece of 1 1/2" pipe that will be the front axle. Side rails will get pinched at the nose, likely to about 12" wide.

WOW!![cl[P!...When I get old and retire in a trailer park down in Arizona I will have to build one of these...it's the ONLY way you can make a golf cart look cool....you could use the golf club shafts for fender braces as well...They wouldn"t be much good for anything else except for maybe "golf"[S....I watched your other cart build and will be watching this one as well...Packard looks like it"s going to be pretty sweet as well...just like the Caddy...[cl[cl[P[P

Just bent it on my cheapie hydraulic jack type bender, you can see it in the background (red).

Trimmed off the Club car steering arms from the spindles, will re-attatch them when I figure out the front suspension. Got the 4" drop axle done and posed it with the frame for an inspiration pic.
