Started making the front suspension. Radius rods are made from 1x2x.125 sliced and welded back together so they taper, Ford tie rod ends mounted to bungs welded to the frame rails. Made tabs tacked to the axle at this point. Transverse spring is the Club Car one shortened, end tabs also made from the golf car parts.

After a couple of revisions [S, I got the front suspension sorted out and all tacked together. Had to add a Panhard bar since there is no triangulating geometry to the front trailing arms. The rack looks a little odd there with a solid axle but it works OK and there isn't a lot of suspension travel.

Got the stop & go pedals mounted, steering column also, rolled it out for some pics. Of course that was not enough, [ddd threw the batteries in, connected the wiring and took it for a test drive...

More progress on the body framing. Rear section and trunk opening all tacked together, next I'll move onto the cowl framing. Have to pick up some sheet metal this week and get onto skinning the body this weekend, to keep the weight down, I'll use 20ga. steel. It's easier to cut and form than 18ga. but also easier to warp....

Man this thing is too cool!!!! I have been wanting to build something like this for the last couple years!!! Difference is I want to use a 600CC fuel injected yamaha engine.....

Made the framing of the cowl, used some 1" round for the top edge of the dash. Re-used some more parts from the golf cart, installed the two glove boxes, think I'll make lids for them. Other than the key and light switches, there won't be any controls on the dash

Get a comercial charge level gauge and set it into an old "Fuel" gauge. That would be good for a laugh. I think you can get on maybe through Graingers ? [P

Picked up a couple sheets of 20ga. and started on the tin work. Welding on the inside as much as possible to reduce the amount of grinding/sanding, also on the edges of the firewall it allows me to round them off with the sander without going through. Made one of the filler pieces at the front corner to support the toeboard and finish the bottom of the cowl. The 3/4" horizontal member on the side of the cowl will become the body side reveal as the panels will be inset 1/4", same with all the 3/4" side body framing.
