I'm sure we can't really tell from the photos, but in the pics without the bumper, the bottom edge looks like it has interesting curvy details that get covered up by the bumper.

X2 on everything they said. I'm starting to wonder why Detroit didn't build this, looks better than anything they did.

Good idea on the windshield. The stainless hardware piece looks right. How are you keeping the flash rust of the body?

I have some first hand experience with a similar cab. Check out post 3 and 10 on the first page of my F2stang build (link at the bottom of my posts). Seats were a real problem. The foot wells got pretty narrow as well.

Nice work on the seat frame. I tried doing something similar on a past project; even with 4" of foam I was bottoming out on the plywood. ( I weigh about 155#) There are different densities of foam, so maybe there was some that was more dense than I had. One of the forums talked about cutting...

The twist is between the pivot and the rod attachment. Boxing that part of the arm would make it work. My current plan is to make a new clutch pedal assembly that mounts to the clutch master bolts, similar to the Wilwood pedal assemblies. We'll see how that goes this morning. No apologies...

The good thing about aluminum is that they won't be shiny for long or is that a bad thing?

What you're saying about maintaining the pressure and rotating the assembly makes sense. I had pressure when I rotated just didn't go as far. The logic on the stuff I read, was to rotate it to uncover covered up holes. As far as spinning a stripped distributor - that's what I have always done...

Yes, it was surprisingly easy to get to the balancer bolt from below and spin it around with a ratchet. I pumped in about 1 1/2 quarts and turned it; then put in another 1 1/2 quarts. I only did a little more than one revolution - didn't know about the 2 turns.

Here's an older photo of the clutch pedal assembly. Easy to see why it's bending, hard to see why I thought it would work when I did it.

Priming the engine with oil Been looking around on You Tube for ways to prime the engine oil. Decided on the path of least resistance - the garden sprayer. I found a plug that matches the oil galley plug in the oil pan tray at Ace. Picked up a 1/2 gallon garden sprayer while I was there...

    1955 Ranch Wagon Cruiser

Well I thought so. I figured out that the problem with the clutch not returning was actually the clutch pedal bending. It's going to require major re-engineering. Tried to get pics, but they don't really show the problem. But before that ... I was thinking that if I was going to go for a...

X2 on the cool trick. That's aluminum tube? Wonder if it would work on steel? Symmetry came out great. Intercooler tubes are killer. Dr. Crank is looking at the angle of the wheel on the pick-up parked in the driveway. I never even saw it. Passenger side must be sitting in a hole? I can't...

Yeah, it's not a big thing, just a little annoying. I'm getting stoked about firing it up. Oil, water, and fuel - it should be ready to try. I would like to pre-prime the oil since it has been sitting for 2 years. Got a plan, if I can get to one of the oil galley plugs.

The wife did great, not even any attitude. We got the brakes done - I think. At least all 4 calipers bled with no air bubbles. I am using a hydraulic release bearing on the clutch with a Wilwood compact master. It holds 1.4 ounces in the reservoir, so refilling while bleeding needs to be...

Whenever I see an SBC I just quit looking. They are so common they aren't interesting. (Of course they're common because they're easy, inexpensive, small and work well.) Something as unique as your Ford needs a unique engine like the Rocket. You'll get it to run. I think that back in the day...

    1952 F-6 Build

I spent about an hour and a half today going through the build and the life. Didn't read everything, but did get a look at most of the pics and an idea of the life. I am amazed and impressed that the build continues through all the life stuff. I missed what happened to the flathead.
