I may have missed it but what tyoe of wood are you going to use. I have a 1933 dodge body I would like to do this too.

No, your right I never said what type. Mostly ash but I'd like to have something darker mixed in also. A freind of mine is a woodworker and is doing the woodwork for me so I'm hoping we can get that nailed down soon.

Finally got back to work on the woody after a trip down south to Run to the Sun and Rats at the Beaver, got the jucies flowin again. Picked up 2 more carbs at a swapmeet for 12 bucks friday so I could make the scoop. I made it out of steel so now it just needs some bodywork and panit.

Made some hairpins today and set them in place, still need to attach'em to the frame. I didn't like where the wishbones ended up so I made these, they ended up being 46" long but they so much better than the wishbones.

Interesting fixtures. you must have a good supply of metal..i am envious heheeh good work

Fixtures do make things easy and since I do blacksmithing and fabrication I have a pretty good selection to chose from.

If your talking about the shift levers I do sell them. I've been selling them for $150.00 each + shipping.

Had this steering wheel and column out of a 50's chrysler layin around that I think will work and look better but I had to make a Twisted Shifter and turn signal lever for it just to put my Twist on it.

Got some time to work on the woody finally, been busy with work and life. Got my wheels powder coated and the new tires mounted but after I got the everything on I didn't care for the dics brakes showing so I cut the old backing plates to fit around the calipers and rolled some steel to look like brake drums. You can still tell that there dics but I like it.

Yes, the fabrication on this project is really cool. You have a good eye for this stuff. I like the front disc covers and hope you don't mind if I borough the idea. Also, can you tell me the size and spline count on your steering column?

Go ahead man it wasn't my idea, I saw it on that pork site about a year ago and thought it was a great idea but some of the guys over there gave him a bad time abought it. I assume your talking about the chrysler colume that I posted pics of that I'm installing in it, I will count them tomorrow and post.

I forgot that the column had been cut so we could get it from the car, it had been setting at the bottom of a valley for about 40 years and it didn't give it up easy but dia. is 3/4", hope that helps.

Been a while sense I did much on the woody [summer was a one hot this year] so I gotta get back on it. I shortened the frame and turned the front frame rails down a little and I think I looks better. Changed out the corvair steering column and got the dodge in after a buddy repaired it for me, came out better than I thought it would.
