Like the old Virginia Slims commercial: "You've come a long way baby"[cl

Not quite the pile of rubble you started with smallfoot.:D [;) [;) [;)
Hood all welded up and ground down. First thin coat of filler.
That's it for today friends..........

Pretty cool build right there. I caught up by flipping the pages backwards as I wasn't quite sure where or when I left off. Kinda interesting watching the build in reverse. Really shows all the progress you have made.
The Photoshop ideas all look good to me. I would have a tough time deciding which way to go but I kinda like those running boards.[ddd

And still more hood....

Still a long way to go on the hood but getting there. Going to shoot some primer on it as I have to take a break on the body work for a while.

Pics 1-2. Before and after of the hood/cowl gap.:D

Thanks for looking in........

Ummm...What?! Lol:D

Nice work Torchie...You've done more body work on just the hood than I've done on my last three builds...I just don't have the patience for it...[P

Thanks Gang.
I hear you on the body work jfg. It used to be no big thing for me but now I really have to be in the mood for it. Probably why I'm just going to shoot some primer on it and leave it for now. LOL I just wanted to get a start on it.
Going to spend some time on the Mechanicals today and hopefully tie up some loose ends........

Years from now when we are all gone there will be someone on this board whining about how they can't handle the easy little project they started. They will be directed to this build thread Torchie.

That made me smile Eman. Thanks.

Todays plan was to bend up the rear brake lines and and bleed them. Got the first line done. Bent up the second one and broke the flairing tool. So that's only half finished. Spent the rest of the morning getting ready to insulate my wife's studio. We want to cut down on the heating bill this winter.
Also.....
Here are some pics of the hood with the F series truck hood spear on it. Just taped up there but it is a possibility. A little shiny to make the dark blue paint pop even more.
Torchie.

I think it needs something to break up the hood profile [P
I think so as well OI. Just not sure if this is it. May get a better idea once it is in color so it's not a pressing issue right now.

What a nice fitting hood you have there. [cl
A little chrome is ok but don't get carried away :D

:D Yeah, they start spraying a little paint, then they start looking for chrome pieces....jeesh!!!:p:rolleyes::D

Next thing you know and I'll be putting in a heater......

My $.02 says the hood chrome needs to be thinner and longer but you are definitely on the right track with it...You want me to send you some MGB side trim? It's stainless, about 1/2" wide and the front fender ones are probably about 3.5' long each. They mount with a simple T bolt. I'd donate them to the cause.
