I'd walk a mile in her shoes

I spent Sunday with my wife looking at areas and homes on the other side of town. We'd like to be closer to things we're not now. I thought a lot about Track-T's 1955 post. Initially I thought whoa, times have changed!! Next I thought geeeeze, Mr. 1955 was a needy grouch. Then I remembered, ya that's the way it was back when Mom was the core, the rock, the center of which all great families revolved. Needless to say, for whatever reason we see less of it now days and some might say it's why the core values of this the greatest country on earth are not what they used to be.....
But then I wondered..............would I be willing to do everything Mrs. 1955 did if I could spend as much time as I wanted in my shop working on my rods? I went down the list one by one, yes, yes, yes, I'd do it all if she did what I do to support and contribute to the household and I had more time to work on my rods!!
How about it guys, would ya? [S

We guys kid about it but there is no question there was a time in our history when women were kinda second class citizens. That article from 55 points that out to a degree, but it is just a result of evolution. If you look at the animal kingdom the male is always the dominant species and the female is there to bear and raise the young. (Ok, there is that little Black Widow thing, but that is a rarity )

Even into the 60's and 70's girls took a back seat to boys in a family. My own Sister had semi hard feelings about me because in our family and lots of other families the male children had better privilages than the female children. When we were older my Sis told me about those feelings, and I understood.

But to be honest, I don't think I would want a woman who wasn't assertive and strong. I like redheads and we know how firey they can be. (But they sure are fun. :D)
