1962 Buick 401 Nailhead Motor & Dynaflow Transmission

I found this motor on Craigslist. The sick green paint was too good to not pass along. I think you'll agree.

Got it T1. That Nailhead is most definitely green. There's no mistaking that. Did you score it? I bought a pink big block Chevy once.

No, I didn't score it. He only shows the motor by appointment!!! lol!!! If I can find the time I might try and make an appointment next week. It's not far from Nashville and he wants $425.00 for it. I'm not sure if it's worth that or not??? I guess it would depend on whether or not it's in descent shape. He says it's been stored inside and wrapped up in plastic for several years. Who knows, it might just be a great motor???

Wow... that's a horrible shade of green. Not a bad price as long as the tranny comes along and it looks to be all there. Not cheap rebuildin' one but worth it IMO. I'm sure it "ran when pulled"!!!

As far as I'm conserned those trannys aren't worth anything........................You can still find the later ST and SP trannys that will fit the early Nailhead.

Actually, being the freak I am, I kinda like the green! It matches good ole smiley here perfectly. One things for sure, nobody could ever say they couldn't see you coming. The trans comes with it and yes it was running when pulled several years ago. How many times have we heard that one???

I remember that thead. Nailheads are sick!!!! The diversity between all the different build pictures is incredible. A pretty versatile engine for back in the day too. Thanks for reminding us of that thread Tripper.
