2.3 ford 4 cylinder

looking at a 2.3 like what comes in rangers and mustangs for a engine non turbo , school me . what years cross over for simple carb and non computer ignition set up .

I don't know if anyone here has much knowledge on these engines. I found a couple links with a whole lot more information with a simple google search

I ran one in the Willys, came out of the pinto I used the front end out of. Ran good just not very fast. Should be some thing early 70's to late 80's. Most stuff from 90 up are FI and computers. [S

Weber's work good. Side or down draft. Is "pinto beans" still around or eslinger (sp) they made power in the 80's. Ford still makes a version of it.

If The Ranger Station is still up, they had a lot of info on the 2.3 and 2.5. Haven’t looked there myself in a while.
