As I took the willys out for a cruise today the trans decided to give up. It went from pulling good to nothing at all all at once. I've been wanting to redo a lot of things so it seams this is as good as any reason to tear her down.

I am going to restub the rear rails and redo my underslung suspension to eliminate the lower blocks. I'm also changing my gas tank set up and tank, the rear end, and the rear sheet metal on the cab. I will probably put a "bed floor" in the bed.

I have to give credit to my awesome wife for the help on the tear down. I had to sneak the pic tho. Lol

I am also going to change the steering gear box or have it rebuilt. The interior might get some interior as well lol.

My goal is to have most of it done for a show in Michigan next month. Should be fun.:D

About three hours after we started the dismantle process.

We would of had the engine/trans out but the engine hoist is blocked in by a car that's leaving the shop tomorrow. So I figured I would just stop for the night instead of moving a non running car twice.

Well I finally got me a new phone and Internet access back...

Here's the current condition. The trans has been rebuilt. The steering gearbox should be done being rebuilt soon and I'm on the hunt for new leaf springs and rear end.

I decided to just restub the rear frame instead of trying to clean the old one up. I'm still going with a under slung frame with leaf springs.

Hope your wife doesn't check this site.....

if mine found out I took a shot...especially of the back side......I'd be a dead man.....

She couldn't care less. She's not your average lady, heck she runs demolition Derbys lol.

Well as soon I get one thing lined out for the rebuild I find something else screwed up. I'm going to have some bushings turned in a lathe for the springs, and when we pulled the motor down the cam needed replaced. I have no idea how it ran as good as it did. #2 cyl shouldn't of been firing. When I get it apart I will post pics.

Finally making some headway. Engines back together for now and I've started on the rear frame.

I'm ditching the leafs and going with coil overs and a ladder bar type suspension.

The cam was wiped out. I have no idea how it ran as good as it did. Pics of it later.

I true my hand at some sheet metal work. I suck compared to most the talent on here but it will serve its purpose.

It was a little bit of a pain because the top and bottom radius are not the same and it wanted to make the panel twist.

We got the coil over mounts done and made the other "cab corner" finally.

We should be making more progress tonight.

Looking good! I see nothing at all wrong with your sheet metal work looks fine to me.

Me either! Except your panel is bent...If you work patiently enought you can get it back to a flat sheet...Lol [cl

Looks more like a major over haul than "Just fix a few things" [P

She's naked!

Well we achieved full frontal nudity, were hopefully for full nudity tonight!

If I could stop throwing up after grinding the old primer off I'd get a lot more done!
