I had the exhaust fan on, the ceiling fan, and a industrial fan blowing air from outside. I thought I would be ok, but not so much. It's all good now

Suspension is painted and on, floors are mostly in, cab corners are on, bed is mounted, steering is done, master cyl and peddle mounted, and she's a roller again.

Hoping to have drive train in tomorrow, most of the wiring, break lines ran, and the rest of the body on.

Tub fabrication questions

Hey Eric

I gotta ask about your body tub you built for this Willys. I see you scratch built a tube frame to mount it to...what gauge steel did you use on the doors and tub??? and also what is the trick to get the back of the tub from top to bottom skin appears to to be drawn tight....the bottom radius is smaller than the top right? Are there relief cuts to get it to fit???

The secret is lots of cursing, lots of it lol.

The bottom radius is smaller and further forward. I cut a piece of 18 gauge that was about 4" to tall and 6" to long. I then laid it against the side of tub and marked where the top and bottom bars of the tub where. Once the piece is laid down the lines will be curved a bit. the curve is just enough so that you cant use a brake to bend it. I added about 3/4" extra at top and bottom to have something to bend over the edge. Once they are bent over I used a shrinker to get them to roll around and match the radius of the tub.

This is how I folded the edge over. Poor boys have poor ways lol.

Lots of trips back and forth to check fitment.

My door skins actually bolt on to the flat strap you can see toward the front of the new panel so I cut about 6" off the end.

My wife helped me till about 3 am before calling it quits. I'm very fortunate to have such a awesome wife. Not many women would go for there husband being in the garage till 10am yet alone help him for most of the time.

She's up and running. I still have a shimmy in the front end to fix and a she's running a little hotter then I like but it is drivable.

I'm putting a stabilizer shock on and making a new fan shroud for it in the morning. Then back to the Duck Tail run.

She grew up with two much older brothers who always had pulling trucks and mud bug trucks so she's never been afraid to get a little dirty. I am very fortunate and am very proud of her. Sometimes I wonder who the bigger gear head is lol.

You have to convince them it's fun and tell them hiw great it would be to be able to spend all that time together working on a project lol.

try reverse phycology on them, tell her " no way would I let you touch my _________________ , I want to be able to drive it some day." (fill in the blank) (car or truck or hot rod, you pigs)

once you tell them they can't touch it, or have any input into it, you won't be able to drag them out of the garage.

so, be careful what you wish for. after all the garage is you refuse from their world.
