since i still need a whole pile of small parts and various doo-dads i am throwing all of my tax return at this .
maybe that'll help?

First time I happened across this thread. Had a '29 Ford pickup about 35 years ago, wish I still had it. Your Chevy cab is very similar.

Looks like it is all coming together, very nice. Lot of good work going into the sheet metal.

Loved the pic with the snow. Reminds me why I moved back to Arizona.

spring mount

Do you think that the hole you have your spring mounted in on the axle is strong enough to support the truck? Normally that type of mount would go through the axle itself. I wouldn't run it that way, Just caused some concern.

update
i got the rear end all cleaned up by grinding a bunch of welds off.
the bed is in position.
and it is just about ready to install.
the shocks for the front should be here today.
unfortunately i hurt my back and the other guy hurt his leg in seperate accidents recently.
sooo
we are going to take a few days off from this while we heal.
but i will post some more pics soon.

oh yeah
i went to a junkyard and found some cool gauges from an old chevy? truck

That split bone setup is really creative. I like to see people welding on those axles--they work great.. Its getting to be a 'lost art' cause it looks spooky, but does fine..

There's all sorts of wild stress going into that front pearch--up down sideways twisty etc. Thats the part that'd break in the old days.

Interesting work. Thanks for the tour.
