Comp cams make a rough idle cam that works with stock converter.I have used them with very good results.
I think they are the high energy cams 280H.[S
Most big cams have got to have a stall converter or they will shut off when you put car in gear unless idle is way high.I found this out 35 years ago when I was a teenager.Bought the biggest cam I could find and put it in my chevelle. It sounded cool but when I put it in gear engine would stall due to loss of low end torque caused by my big cam.
Everyone loves the race car sound so if it is in the budget I would get converter from summit, etc

Also the lower control arms are unhooked in the pics because they Hit the body and need to be relocated in about four inches from where they are. Stinks!

The latest progress. Got the motor in and threw the header on to check the steering and master cylinder clearance. Also wanted an idea how it's gonna end up looking. So take about four inches off the top ( in your head) and tell me what you think.

I'm hardly an expert, but personally? I like the comparatively square and straight lines you've got going there compared to that "broke in the middle" look too many people try. Any Idea what the stock layback on the grill shell was? There too I tend to like the looks of them a little less raked and more perpendicular to the frame. If it were me, I'd chop 2 or 3 inches out of the shell to shorten it up (or whatever it takes to mount it more vertically and still be a nice lead in..) commensurate with the inevitable body chop.

The grill isn't fastened to anything it's leaning on it. And the rake on the grill is so the grill doesn't sit a bunch higher than the body's cowl. I usually don't like the rake either but the 34 grill doesn't look bad raked.

Turns out according to what I just read that my car is a 26. They say that the 26 T has a wooden frame around the back window and the 27 has a metal frame with holes punched in it. Can anyone here confirm or deny it?

Just finished up the floor skeleton and fitted the drive shaft. Really starting to come together! I'll get some recent pics up in the next few days.[;)

Here's the fire wall.

Haven't messed with the T in a while because of overtime at the firehouse. I was able to make some progress this week. One for motivation.
