As usual I'm waiting for parts, but its parts for the Fargo, so that has given me time to work on the Dodge. My 59 Caddy tail lights came in and I have been busy doing the install on them, as follows.

The lights I purchased are pretty good quality other than the bulb mounts, and they sucked. I cut them out of the bases and made new plates out of 16 gauge with slots to install GM 1/4 turn bulb mounts. I fastened a 2x12 leveled to the back of the body to mount a jig for guiding the hole saw for the frenched holes, due to the curve of the body I could only use the hole saw for 2/3's of the hole then had to finish the cuts with a jig saw. I used 3.5"exhaust tubing for the light buckets. There will be a small access panel on each side in the interior for changing bulb or lenses.

There done, it took 26 hours to complete the install [;)[;)[;) I've come to the conclusion hole saws over 2"are only meant for wood in a drill, even with my jig the lower hole on the drivers side went askew and required me to weld it back up and remark and cut with a jig saw. [S

So after 5 weeks of sitting around with my bad knee, I'm able to move around a little with one crutch. Not sure how long it's going to be before surgery due to covid 19.
I deceided I had to do something, with my adjustable height work bench I was able to do most of this project on a chair with wheels. Stared out with a roll of 9 gauge black wire straightened is out spinning 16' lengths counter clockwise with a half inch drill. Made some 1/2"x 3/4" angle out of 18 gauge sheet stock for the frame that bolts into the shell.

I used a piece of scrap 1/4"plate to make a jig for drilling all the holes in the right spot.
