I'm new here, so here Is what I am working on. I am grafting a '28 Ford Closed Cab on a custom Frame with Ford 302 with C-6, Toyota Truck font suspension and Lincoln Continental 8.8 in the rear. The suspension will set up on air bags. the truck originally was an '85 Ford Ranger with 3" Top Chop, Bed bobbed 2' and body sectioned 5 inches with suicide doors but I bought like that and I am tired of people saying "I've seen that truck somewhere", I'm adding my touch with the '28 Ford Closed Cab Pickup.

Here are some pictures as it is right now. I am prepping the '28 Cab and bed for the graft.

I think I would keep the ranger as is and finish the front to match the rear better. From the cab back it's cool. Think about a falcon or fairlane front clip cut up to fit somehow. Build the C cab from scratch on a boxed tube chassis.

RR28, If you hit a few swap meets and junkyards, maybe Craigslist for the right parts, you can have TWO trucks; your very cool Ranger AND an A Pickup.

i dont really understand whats going on here but my opinion would be to leave the ranger and build that 28 up, looks to be a good start and will be a much kooler truck when its done, and that way you wont be destroying a peice of american history.

'28 Build up

I respect everyones's opinion, but I have gone to 4 car shows and won 1st in all shows in under-construction and Rat Rod classes but I don't want to take credit for something I didn't do and I am tired of hearing "I've seen that truck somewhere before."

I used to be in 4 X 4's before and was a member of CK5. com. Their motto was "Built not bought" and I want to keep it that way.

I am using the frame and suspension, but I'm putting my twist of ideas into it. I will keep the body and the bed of '85 Ranger or I might even sell it. I don't have deep pockets so I can only fund one project. Personally, I've never seen a Ratt Rod with a $2700 set of 20 inch Tuner wheels. I have all the receipts and picture documentation of the '85 Ranger build up and the other guy put 3 times the amount I gave for it plus he delivered it to me. He definitely had over 400 hours in the build to this point.

Thanks again for everyone's opinions, but I plan to keep the Old steel and keep building. Just how many '28 Ford closed cab pickups do you see out there.

Teachers say I am radical in my approach to education and it is going to crossover in the '28. It's not going to be the traditional Flat black. but
Flatz Daytona Blue Pearl Metallic.

Thanks again and I will keep everyone informed.

I have really enjoyed the group and site.
