Nothin' wrong with showing off a nicely cleaned up set of brakes. It's all part of the story.

Thanks Sam...I dig the whole story thing and want to see everything going on with other builds. Sometimes it helps we come up with ideas.

I got the first piece of the firewall puzzle tacked in and started to frame up the bed. I wanted to get more done over the weekend, but I ran out of welding gas and there is no place to get a fill around here on the weekends.

Gas tank and battery box will have to wait until I get the bed worked out. Dropping off the motor at the machine shop today at lunch.

What are you doing for door latches? Mine are froze up solid. I bought some Speedway latches. Just been searching around for some installation pics. Looking good, keep up the work.

Ty...not sure about the hinges or latches yet. I've been searching like a mad man trying to find replacments for mine. I'm going to check out the ones on Speedway's website...are they universal?

Looking good Troy! Excellent fab work as usual [cl

Do I detect the beginnings of a tilt bed [S

Snake, the tilt bed thing did cross my mine, but I'm going for something a little different...stay tuned! It will be obvious in the next couple of sets of pictures I upload.

Thanks for checking out my build! Really helps keep me going!

Troy, i went with the Speedway ones. Not to hard to install. I also got the mounting plates. I'll post up some pics soon on my build.

Way kool!!!! Excelent fabbin,,,Thanx for all the detailed photos. I wish i'd takein pics. of my frame. I have a question about your frame table. I never built a frame on a table so How do you get the frame off the table? My frame on my semi weighs about 650 lbs.

Thanks Ty, I'll check them out. I think I saw them once while I was on there site. I really want to go with stock looking stuff so they might work out well. I'll check your build for the pics.

Hillbilly, Thanks for the props! I built my frame table with removable legs. So to get the frame off the table I strapped it to my engine hoist and lifted it a little then took the legs off of the table. My frame weights about 500lbs and it worked out well. Hope this helps.

Thank you Rat IHC,,,, Yes it does help.. This winter i plan on building a table like that. Do you know where i can get some plans or blue print on building one Thanx again.

Hillbilly - Don't really know where to get blue prints for a frame table. All I did was build it so it would work with my frame demensions.

I got the floor boards cut out the other day and finished mount the rear of the cab to the frame. I also mounted the e-brake lever...I think it looks cool on the side of the transmission. I'm going to attach the e-brake cables tomorrow or Monday. I also pick up my engine on Monday. I'm thinking of doing a quick walk through on the engine assembly...waste of time? or do you guys think there is a use for it?

Should have the new floor boards in by the end of next week then I'll start to break everything down in a couple of weeks to put the finishing touches on the frame and cab.

Haven't gotten a lot done, but I've been working on it a lot! How the heck does that happen?! [S I worked three days on the transmission tunnel....all in vain. I was trying to round the trans tunnel with one piece of sheet metal....but....I ended up wasting more sheet metal and cutting more tack welds than anything. I really needed a slip roller or english wheel to get it right. In the end I just boxed it in with striaght pieces. Turned out ok. Still have a good amount of work to do on the floor boards, but it should go a little faster now. After I get the floor boards mocked up I'm going to take things apart and finish up the cab and frame. Motor is back from the machine shop and will put that together this coming week.

The one thing i'm going to have issues with is a comfortable gas pedal location. I did get a pair of seats out a 98 Escort, removed the tracks and head rests and they are going to fit great. Have a couple feed bags or something to cover them up. Your like me Troy. Always seems like i'm working on it, but nothing seems to get done. LOL

Yeah...I'm going to be making a couple of bends in the brake arm to make some room for the gas pedal...I'll get that worked out after I get the steering column back in. I bought some seats yesterday...leather ones from a dodge for $90. Keep the updates coming...even the small milestones like mine! :D

I think the trans tunnel is looking great! [cl

Thanks for the props Snake! :D

Man, I haven't checked your build in a while, you've been busy! Your truck is looking great. Keep after it!

Thanks Mike! I see that you started on your frame...looking forward to seeing how your truck turns out!

Here are the seats that I picked up. The are from a Chrysler LHS. Yes they are powered and yes they are heated! :D

I like the trans tunnel, I think it looks good just like you have it. As for the seats, those are too nice & since I'm in Orlando I'll just stop by and take them off your hands ;)

Maverick, I guess you're right...I'll leave'em out back next to the dog house. He's kind of a mean one so be quick when you pick them up. I leave his favorite chew toy out there as well...a tracker tire...might help distract him while you're loading up the seats. :D

Ty, They were too good to pass up!

Fink, yeah well I'm planning on driving my truck across country when I'm done so comfort is the name of the game...especially with my bad back! ;):D
