also picked up some air bags last week, 3in collapsed and 9in extended.

after playing with the 4 link for a few hours, we didn't like the way it was looking. so back over to a buddys house to spend more time on the CNC table. this is what we came up with.
the ruger p345 will still be in there, on a different bracket.

and when i was there we cut these. this will be for the front susp. this monster is 1/2 in thick and we'll be welding another 1/2 plate to the top and bottom to make a "I" beam, that will be bolted to the front axle and then have a heim joint back on the frame.
to see one of these cnc's cut 1/2 in person is something!!! and it'll cut bigger, if it doesn't put a smile on your face, youre in the wrong shop..

Judging by the piece of scrap on the table in the one pic I would say you guys have fun with that table!!!! Your bags only have 6" of travel? seems a little low??...... I think mine move 9"....... not that 6" isn't enough just saying......

you think so? i was thinking with my ride height at 4in that a 6in bag would be good, i could be wrong?

a little more work this weekend.

I have a couple small questions, how wide is the frame in the rear, and is that so you have more room for bags?

Also, the angle of the 4-link, is that because you don't want to run a panhard bar or?

I’m thinking we set it at 24-26in wide. the reason for that was we wanted to keep it inside the mounts on the front axle. on the 4link ( still need to box in the bracket on the frame) we where thinking it would be better to put the brackets out as far as possible on the diff. to see if we could get away from running a panhard bar, not sure we may still have to run one. and if we ran the brackets right inline, the links between the brackets seemed to be too short for any travel. we're not sure of the bag location yet.
if you have any suggestions let them rip, that's why i'm here, thanks.

I think that will bind at the rear end. If you angle the brackets on the rear end so that the link bars are straight with the brackets, I think it will work better.

Angling the bars like that reminds me of 60's Chevy's with coil springs. They used a setup similar to that, but the upper bars were longer than the lower ones.

Hello there ! I've got a 39 Plymouth truck I'm starting. Did you fab your own front disc mounts or buy a kit ? I need to know how to convert mine to discs (on a budget ) Thanks for your time !

i bought a kit.

we did some measuring to see where to mount the air bags, didn't want to mount them right on top of the axle. so looks like they are going over the center diff. and there be set up horizontal, i'm going to get the metal cut out this weekend and we'll be back to it next weekend.
we did decide to cut the brackets on the diff. to sit a bit at a angle.

I think running your links at an angle like that is going to cause you binding issues and you will still need a panhard.

But glad to see I am not the only one running a 4link with short links. I think mine are only 13.5" eye to eye.

That curved rear frame is AWESOME!!!!
