'47 Dodge shop truck

Not a lot of progress yesterday, knee keeps swelling up like a poisoned pup.

Got the finish welding done on the rear cross member and stuck a sheet of
1/2" OSB in the bed to square everything up then tightened things down.

After alternating ice packs and heat all night, the knee looks and feels better.

Tailgat today.

I am planning on using these on my build. 1941-48 Chevy. May or may not have the blue dot in them.
If you look at the early 60's Fords they used round tail lights as well. Galaxies and Falcon. Or the early 60's Chevy's. They were round as well and and usually in sets of 3.

I got the tailgate and hinges made today. Got a whole lot of finish welding
to do and get the latches on.

The hinges are simple and cheap. That's me in a nut shell.
The hardest part was drilling and tapping the 1" bar stock for one end.
Just welded the one. If I was going to do it again I'd just weld both ends
and unbolt one end from the stake pocket if you need to take the tailgate off.

Thanks Sarge. I guess I had to much down time and feel the need to
get something done since I can again. Did a lot to thinking and planning
and now it's time to catch up.

Thanks guys. It's been a lot of fun building this bed. Not really that much to it. If you need a bed I would say build it.

I ran out of wire for the mig welder so I went to Tractor Supply and bought a 10lb. roll of Hobart .023 solid wire. Got home and put it on and it was like I didn't know how to weld or something. I messed with it for about an hour and went and bought a roll of Lincoln wire and put it on. Everything went back to normal. I don't know if they missed the composition of that Hobart wire or what. Made in China where Lincoln was made in Mexico.

All I do know is Tractor Supply going to get their Chinese wire back tomorrow.

It's magic!
Duct tape on the back for the poser shot to see if I liked it. I do!
When I cut the thicker one I'll plug weld from the back.
