Got all tuned and dialed in today. I put 58 miles on it this afternoon with no problems and I couldn't be happier with the way it runs. LOT'S OF TORQUE AND PULLS FOREVER!!!
[cl I bet the torque is outstanding
Heck, I've got a grin on my face and I'm not even there (physically)

Pops, this whole engine swap really has me blown away. Remove the front clip, the cab and the motor. Drop in a new motor, reinstall the cab and front clip and get it up and driving. All in a few weeks and in the middle of a blizzard. [cl[cl[cl

Thanks for the kudos guys. This little truck is a whole different critter with the new engine. I hope I don't get in trouble before the new wears off.
For all you old farts that find yourself thinking life is getting boring, build a stroker motor!

After driving it a little I can already tell the next thing on the never ending list is a shift kit for the transmission.

I guess it's obvious that I don't have a job that I have to go to anymore.
I love this retirement thing.

Some people said I would hate the stroker motor in everyday traffic. It's plain to see they really haven't driven one. Either that or they didn't build the right comboination of parts.

You probably have a life other than out there in the shop. That seems to be my happy place now days.

Not yet but it's only been 2 days!

Sure but you'll have to bring over here to my handy capped equipted shop.
I'm too old and stiff to roll around on the floor.

If you wasn't so far away, I'd sure do it! I got in a little "rolling on the floor" time today finally. Got my trans mount roughed out and in place. Any progress is good!

I hear you on the progress. Stay after it.

Sounds good from where i'm sitting. :D Now we need a video of it going by on the road.

I thought about that but I was afraid some yahoo would steal my cell phone while I was doing the drive by. Might be able to get my grand son to come out and play.

Running board mod....

I was going to put the running boards back on again and I decided they were over built, too heavy, and too square on the edge. So this is the new look.

Still need to build support brackets for the center and finish weld it then try to get the other side to look similar. Matching is probably not an option, but close is good.

I'm digging the look of the new running board POPS.[cl:D:cool:
In regards to the sides matching. Von Dutch was heard to say in response to a customer complaining that the pin striping wasn't exactly the same on both sides of his car. "You can only see one side at a time." That's the cleaned up version.[ddd

He was good for that kind of stuff. My favorite story is when he did a job for a very persnickety customer he carefully hid a flaw in the job for the guy to find. When he did, he had to use a magnifying glass to see that it said, "You found it." Genius!

POPS, The running boards are great! Mine don't match, and they are more or less factory. :D
