BlueNorther, I will keep the Intrepid rack in mind when I dig into steering. That rack looks like it could be useful for many set ups.

Thanks Gold03. I hope to get a f250 harness for the 7.3 down the road for performance. I have seen kit that kick the hp up to 700 and 1000 ft-lb of torque but that is serious money. With 600 ft-lb of torque stock it should not have a problem turning tires into smoke [ddd

Ill try sgtpontiac and christcrusader13. Progress will be slowing as I have transferred schools. I did have most Saturdays to work on it but now I only have breaks and long weekends. I will still be chipping away at it though.

one step forward two steps back...

I started on building the truck floor and in the process of removing the rear fenders discovered RUST and a lot of it. I knew it had rust but I guess I should have looked harder. It doesn't help someone used bondo as rust repair putty . I guess I have no choice but to makes extensive repairs and replace the rockers and floor all the way to the fire wall. This is something I planned on doing but not until later down the road after I had at least driven it some. The fenders will have to be welded back on also but on the up side it gives me a touch more room for tires...

On the upside I hung the front sheet metal on to help get the body aligned and the motor fits with room to spare [ddd. I dont know how many people saw the car and said " Thier in no way that motor will fit!" . I guess the tape measure does not lie :D. It is also nice seeing the car together, well kind of.

progress

Well one step forward and two steps back. I don't get much time to work on the car with school but I have managed to do a little damage.

I decided that that the entire lower half of the car was rusted junk, so I starting removing and fixing rust. The rust repair is more of a pain than normal since someone brazed and bonded repaired rust in the cars past. They also removed supports and replaced them with flat sheet metal that was not welded in correctly.

So now the car is getting a complete floor, rockers, trunk, and firewall. On the plus side I built the new rockers about one and half inches shorter to get the car lower. The rockers still have not been attached at the quarter panels because the quarters need to be worked into the right location and that is not possible until I have some floor built to give the car some strength. Then I will be able to tough and pull on it.

I also started on the exhaust since it is easily accessible. I hope to get the exhaust and maybe firewall done on my next break from school. Time will tell.

progress

School has been keeping me too busy to work on the car much but I did manage to make some progress over thanksgiving break.

I got some body mounts made and welded on the frame. Then I removed what was left of the original firewall and began building a new one. I hope to get some time over around Christmas to work on it but time will tell.

Thanks for the encouraging words guys.
