hey All,
heres a fun game ive tried, with surprising results..

ever since ive owned my Lark, its been plagued with a miss around 26-34mph - town speed - (unrelated to other carb issues)

under the carb sits a 1" high - 4 port spacer. for comparison ive included an open plenum spacer
now the 3rd is the one ive found interesting. clearly designed to aid flow, without filling a hole ,, as the open spacer does.
ive had a number of thinks about 3rd pic spacer,, knowing i can buy a 4 barrel spacer cheap, i dragged out my die grinder and burr,
while the Stude doesnt have the Edelbrock Performer (4th pic) stock 4bbl manifold is split the same.

i spent some time carefully 'flowing' the spacer to replicate the flowed version , trimming out about 1/2" leaving the center section = split manifold;

Stude 8's are not well known for ease of breathing,,
after an careful hour , and polishing with a purple strip it disc , re-assembly the round town miss had gone completely, and the car seems to run much more smoothly between -50-60mph .. and it maybe feels a bit quicker

this article i found interesting ,,,

was worth the time and a good result .... smiles all round really

Apologies if was a bit over zealous in describing my doings,
