Now that's a morale booster right there! Looking good man, nice work on the mounts.......I recognized that cattle mat, I use it for all kinds of stuff.

Got a little more done tonight. I got the hole cut into the dash for the column . Then got the column cut down to length . The hardest part was hand fitting the u-joint onto the steering box . You can't see it in any of the picks but I machined a delrin bushing for the column .I had to recess the column into the dash to give me enough leg room to use the clutch .

You are getting there IB.
I may have to modify my dash/Steering column as well.
If I ever get to that point.
Are you going with the stock gauges or something else?
Torchie.

Looking good. The steering column looks like it's right at home there. Nice clean cuts not like some of the other hack jobs you see rolling around.

I used a 2 1/2 inch hole saw to cut the dash. There was a 3/8th inch hole already there . So I drilled another one on the bottom of the dash .Then I turned down a piece of 3/8th shafting to fit in a hole saw and used it as a guide for the cut. Then finished the cut with a cutoff wheel .

It has been to cold to work out in the garage this winter. An i work for the road commission so i have been super busy . Getting back at it now that I have my lathe set up in the basement. Today I was lucky enough to happen by this.

It is a Muncie M20 4 speed and shifter. I went to a guys house to do some welding on his tractor for him .A
iseboxfter I was done welding we were talking about cars when he told me about the tranny. He told me to take it try it out and it I liked it to come back and square up with him or bring it back if I did not like how it performed .

It has been over a month and I am finally getting a chance to work on the truck again. I started on the lake headers. I got a kit from Hells Gate Hot Rod about a year ago. It is harder than I expected it to be. The pipes are 2 in. when I worked them square they were to big for the ports. So I had to cut a small pie piece out and weld them back together. I had to use two elbowes on each one. so I will need to order one more 120 degree elbow to finish the other side. this is all I have done so far .

back at it. I have the steering wheel notch done .So I am working on the brake / Clutch master cylinder and pedals. I am using a 1963 chevy master cylinder. It has two sides on it. One is for the Hydraulic clutch the other is the brake.I got it mounted under the dash . I am trying to figure out the pedal swing . But I am stuck on how much travel I need to activate the clutch and brake Here is what the system look like under the dash . You can also see my gas pedal . It is out of a 97 S-10 I took the plastic pedal off and made a new one out of 1/8th inch tread plate

Got a little time out in the garage today. I finished boxing in the farm . Then I did some patches. The frame was bad where the front shock towers were . It had rusted so bad between the towers and the frame it pushed a large dent into the frame. One side was even rusted through. So I cut them out with a cut off tool and welded a new piece in. sorry I did not get any before pics.

Got a little more done. Worked on the headers again . Got all of the bends worked out and spot welded together and tacked onto the cone. then took it apart and cut the holes in the cone. I didn't Have a easy way to do it . So I use a hole saw to cut a hole in each end then I used a set of snipe to cut it out. I then cleaned the hole up with a die grinder with a carbide burr .I need to do a little more welding on it then do some grinding/sanding to finish it off. I also need to order a 120 degree elbow for the other side.
