Weather is gona be kinda nice tommrow, So i am going hunting for old tin and grab me a dash. Theres this place were about 20 late 40's early 50's cars that were dumped on the bottom of a hill. Most off the cars are still intacted and wedge tight to each other. Whats the best way to remove a dash and coloum from a 50's car. I cant open any of the doors due to other cars being to close. I have a gas powered cut off saw but i am afraid of cutting too deep. And its a bit off a walk in so i will only probly only have limted amount of fuel. Just wondering about weres the best spot to make some cuts are to ???

Sorry for the Dumb question but I never really took out a dash in any car before and the oldest thing i wrenched on was a 84 gmc pick up (Car/Truck wise)

Some have pinch welds at the windshield and bolts in the lower edges. The columns are one piece to the gearbox, so a good selection of tools may come in handy too.

Thanks... forgot to check this out when i headed out this morning. Had a bit of a hike to get there... seemed forever with a gas powered saw in one hand and gas can in the other. Lucky me the dash i wanted Had 5 screws and 3 were already missing. The bottom was in frame was soft and broke off. Steering coloum was easy as well. frie wall was totaly rotted away and came out with the dash. Steering wheel was cool piece but was no good.

I knew that i would have to trim the dash but figured alot more then this.
