My Dad had a 56 Ford Sedan Delivery and always complained about the right side blind spot. It was a base model and had no right side mirror. He eventually went to a glass shop and had a 1' x 2' window put in. When my brother inherited the car he welded it back up since it was pretty fugly, still has it today. When he filled it the first time, he brazed the panel in and warped the crap out of it - 20 years ago he redid it, hammerwelding the new filler panel in and rescued his reputation. Paint is the original blue color, he added the optional Courier trim and, of course, a passenger side mirror.

Somebody put a Meteor front end on your brother's car, zz.

One of the previous owners had (for some unknown reason) chosen to hack out the original dash face (it appears they used an oxygen lance) and had a 1/4" plate aluminum dash installed. They drilled holes in it and fastened a mid 80's vintage Camaro dash behind it.

i confused this with your truck build again and was going to ask about the dash swap. I realized I was in the wrong thread, again, and now I cant stop thinking about how good that car dahs would look in a truck.

Thanks again everyone. I got tired of waiting for parts for both projects, so I took another one in. I didn't figure it's worth starting a build thread, as it should only be here for a few weeks. This one came with quite a story. The owner had bought it just a few years ago, as a fresh build from a "friend" of his, as a fresh build. It's been leaking oil, so he was referred to me (just for removal and reinstall). The motor has gone to my buddy's engine shop for what he hopes is just gaskets and seals (as it was supposedly refreshed just prior to him buying it). I saw pictures of the car, and the owner assured me that it was numbers matching factory correct 340 4 speed Swinger. As soon as it came in the door I started noticing things that didn't match my Swinger. Needless to say, once I looked over the VIN I had to give the owner some bad news. It's a 6 cylinder automatic car that's had a 71 340 and 4 speed installed. The builder installed a disc brake kit, and that's causing grief as well. Somebody has brazed the front studs into the hubs, as it seems they were loose. Here's a few pictures of it.

Hubs are so expensive that it is better to risk life and limb than replace them. Some times its just a good idea to get a second opinion. It is a pretty car, though.

That`s stupid and should not happen ofcourse, but for the buyer that would have been easy to find out. Buying a high $ car with fake tags and such is a whole different kinda scam imo...
