This is my 72 bug that I have started building a V8 bug. It has a Dana 44 rear, Mustang II front-end, custom-built tube chassis, 302 Ford with a C4. Have hopes of driving it this Spring.

Wow, love a v-8 bug. This one looks like it's well off to a good start!!

When I was in high school (way back in 1970-1974), the auto shop teacher sent me over to help an advanced student install a motor in his bug. That motor was a turbo out of a 911. That little bug put the hurt on a lot of the performance era Detroit iron of the day. No one back then expected to get stomped by a VW bug.

My sleeper was dad's 4 door Oldsmobile Dynamic 88 with a 394 CI 4v motor, it was quicker then most expected, but I knew better then to run that bug.

Nice project Darrun!

My neighbor has a VW Rabbit Truck with a V8 in it. Actually that's the truck that almost ran my grandson over. That was scary, but the truck is cool

We had a local junk yard dealer back in the day...had a VW Bug with a V8 in the back seat...I never got to see it run but man it looked darn cool...

Looks like yours will have the motor up front...very nice project...thanks for taking us along.

Thanks. Yeah mine has a 302 with a C4 up front. I built the chassis using a Mustang ii front end and Dana 44 rear. Should be fun.
I went to look at one years ago in the local trader paper. It had a 455 Toronado drivetrain in place of the rear seat. Even being young and dumb, I could see it wasn't well enough put together for me to drive it down the road. Although the seller did take me for a ride, and it was impressive.
