More great lists.[cl [cl [cl
That's a pretty impressive list for just 22 years bob.:D
So lets take this one step further.......
I imagine that like me, many of these cars were owned pre digital age so pics are rare.
Post up any pics you have and tell us which one was your favorite car and why.
I know......But I'm kind of house bound and bored.[ddd
her are what few pics I have left.
They show the 47 Chevy. The 40 Chevy 4 door. The 57 Wagon and my 56 Merc 2 door hardtop. As well as the one pic I have of the 64 Olds Starfire convert.
The 56 Merc was probably my favorite car as it was my main HS car. Lots of good memories cruising with my girlfriend.[ddd
Lets. hear it...
Torchie
p.s. Thought of one more as well. 73 Corvette Convertible. I'm not a huge Vette fan but is was the last year for the metal bumper plus a 4 speed manual trans, convertible. That's 3 more that have come to mind since this thread started. Must be CRS....

The 57 Saratoga was the fast one. Great burnouts too. Most miles in the 52 Chev 4 dr. Will load photos this weekend.

This was my fav car... '65 Chevelle, 625hp LS3/700R4, Vintage air, Hydroboost braking system, 3" Pypes stainless exhaust, beefed up suspension! It was set up strictly for street racing... but of course I would *never* do anything like that! It was an awesome car but after I retired out in the boonies... I couldn't afford it's gasoline habit. It got 12mpg on premium which at the time I sold it was over $4 gal. Since I've live 15 miles from town it cost nearly $10 to go in & there was really no one out here to race so sadly... I sold it! Owned it for 10 years to the day!

One of the funniest things that happened while I was cruising one day... I pulled up next to a soccer mom in a vanish type SUV & she tried to race me at the light! Another time I pulled up next to a souped up Vette with the license plate... 2QK4U! I rolled down my window & said... "I don't think you're too quick for me"! He wasn't... hahaha!!!

Great car Tripper.
I think that I have mentioned in passing that my friend has a 65 Chevelle with a hot 327 in it currently. We are in the process of putting together a "Old School" 301 for it. But not really old school because it will have a FI system.

Very nice Tripper. Found a few old photos.
Great pics, Burgerman.[cl:D
I wouldn't kick any of them out of the garage for dripping oil.

That's quite the list offroadrolls.

My first car was the 47 Chevrolet Fleetmaster, bob.
I payed $60 buck for it.:eek::D
Isn't it funny that we can remember what we payed for all those cars.
I bought my 55 Caddy Convert for $450 off a used car dealers lot. LOL
You had some great cars. Glad this post is bringing good memories to all.

WOW! I thought I had a problem! I owned a hot rod shop and car lot for many years and my list probably wouldn't be as long as some of yours...even if I could remember. I do remember my first car, a 50 Olds Dynamic 88 that I bought for $50 worth of labor and had to completely rebuild everything on it. I was only 13 at the time and it was a good learning experience. I don't really have anything left now except for my old '27 T and a Blazer that I need to get busy on and rebuild. I do still have the title and vin plate to a total wrecked and rusted out Superbird...but I plan to sell it to a builder instead of doing it myself. I bought a new Superbird when I came home from Vietnam...worst piece of junk I ever owned, so I don't want another one...but they're selling good right now, so someone will want this junk one I've got.

Yes, Torchie, I overpaid for my Fleetmaster. My Dad took me to a used car lot where we got to pay extra for it. I took the vacuum shift assist off of it and it ground gears. Put lowering blocks on it and it bottomed out. Put a Smitty muffler on it and got a ticket.

ssimpala, some of those restorations of rare muscle cars have practically no original sheet metal left in them.

It is funny we can remember cars 60 years ago but forget what I have for breakfast. [S

About 30% of those are flips of some sort. For instance, I bought the 76 Cutlass for 375.00 and parted the sheet metal for 400.00. At the time they were very popular with our local Hispanic car enthusiast. Then I had a customer with an 82 Olds wagon (small like a Monte Carlo) that needed an engine because it had one of those POS 350 Diesels in it. So I did the transplant for 8 or 900.00 P&L. Geez, that thing was fast!
BTW I forgot 2, a 1974 Subaru Wagon back in the mid 80's and the 1959 GMC 2.5 ton dump truck with the Coleman 4WD conversion I had a couple years ago.

I can’t believe this. Tried it again tonight, went to post, it said I wasn’t logged in and didn’t have permission to access this page, wtf? Logged in again, it went to a blank page. Tried going back a page, it had lost everything I’d just spent 20 minutes typing on this damn iPad. I’ll try it again from home next time.....on my pc! The heck with this iPad crap!

Edit...this posted fine? Don’t know what’s going on here....
