Have any of you guys used any of the aluminum rods that a being advertised on Facebook? The ones you use a propane torch with? They look too good to be true.

I had a bundle of rods years ago... I wish I could remember the brand. They were the same kind of product, if not the exactly the same thing you speak of, by a different name.
I gave them all to a friend and never tried them myself, though I got them from a retired welder who swore by them. [S

There were a few guys on the aluminum boat site I was on that tried them with widely varying results. Most of which were un satisfactory
We had a similar product we used to repair aluminum radiators. We found them unreliable as on one rad they worked great then the next one would render the rad to scrap

They are kinda weird.
I bought a few pieces and finally managed to fill a hole on the bottom of a beer can. Never messed with them again.

I'd never buy anything from a FB ad. I've seen multiple posts that people ordered stuff from there & never got those items or their money back!
