Diggin' those "safety squints"...

All I had at the time. ;)

 Dave, HF has face shields for next to nothing. Metal fragments in the eye is no picnic. Been there. Before OSHA!

Take care.

All my HF goggles dried up and fell apart in the desert outdoors. OSHA would certainly shut me down. Hey, HF is having a parking lot sale! Could use some more cut-off wheels ... :D

I think your shoe is on fire, Mr. Safety.

Orange shoes, must be reflecting, yeah that's it. Luckily no body parts or items of apparel were damaged. And actually, I am quite careful for a careless waif.

I thought the same thing lol.

Had that been the case, I am sure there would have been more photos!!! :D

Sold a few parts off the 'Burb yesterday and borrowed my buddy's power washer, so we'll see just how much of that 60 year accumulation of caked-on fluids, mud and road grime come off the Pontiac today. Been giving it diesel fuel showers and scraping for about 3 days, and even hit metal in a few places! :p

Engine and trans out of the Suburban and a few more parts before it goes to the crusher. Then roll the Chieftain into place for its drivetrain!!! :D

yeah...I noticed....

Where ya been Sarge? Bruno put out a APB on ya! :D

Went into a diatribe on the BS post about my awol condition....suffice it to say there is just too little of me and too many tasks lately....thought this was calming down but Oh boy did it rear it's ugly head....LOL...

Fitting the engine in place is a really fun step. It is the step that turns an old clunker sitting in the yard into a hot rod that gets everyones interest. [P

Well, I will try not to disappoint! It is going to be a fab-your-own engine and trans mounts since there are none on the car right now. That should prove interesting! I'll try and get a "floating engine" shot. ;)

Sorta in place ...

And here it is:

Floor jack under the back of the trans is about where it will need to sit so that the driveshaft goes through the hole in the chassis X member. Front is sitting on a 2x4 block on the front crossmember. Oil pan clears the steering arm and it looks like a tight fit for the used Hedman headers I have, but might work.
