Ha! Australian Cattle Dog. I've had a few of them. They need something to do all the time or they do stuff like this. High energy & high intellect doesn't make for a good "house" dog One of the best dogs in the world, if you know how to handle them.

Agreed Mav, had one at the last place I lived..acre lot, put up a 6ft
privacy fence in the back yard while the whole time I was working
Max (his name) would be right by my side watching and digging trying
to help Finally I finished the fence told Max "Now you'll stay put"
I no sooner shut the gate and turned around and there he was sitting
behind me....could have sworn he was laughing at me....
