Wow!! nice stuff. You would love it here. We have a great variety of things to collect. You are probably familiar with the Hell River formation and I live just a few miles from where that starts. 60 miles north is in the middle of it. Many complete dinosaurs have come from there including "Sue" the complete tyrannosaurus. The Badlands and rivers give up a lot of fossils too. I had one friend find an ammonite on his ranch that he got $100,000 for. My dad found a Smiledon, (saber tooth tiger) skull in the badlands when he was young.

nice stuff! I`ve collected rocks and fossiles all my life, but had my collection boxed up since I moved to another house 15 yrs ago. I moved again last month and gave the entire collection to the provious owner`s son. I walked into his room when we first looked at the house, and it was just like I walked into my childhood room...wow. he was over the moon...and I`m done collecting and storing... :D

We don't have much for rocks here but some areas are rich in fossils and artifacts, so that's where my collecting has been. I've found lots of neat stuff diving in the rivers and springs.

I used to live in Western Nebraska. We had lots of fossils there.

I hear you Dutch.
I started collecting when I was 9. Got into Cutting and polishing by age 10.
When we moved into our current house I left about a ton of rocks at the old place(Literally). Just sold off my equipment last year which included a 18" slab saw. Also got rid of all my rocks which included 3-5 gallon pails of Lake Superior agates as well as about 40 lbs of Mohawkite which is a Rock/Mineral that is found in the upper pennisula of Michigan.Looks like gold and silver mixed in with a creamy quartz.
I also had every edition of Lapidary Journal from 1969 up to around 1990. Took up a lot of space.
A great hobby but man is it heavy[ddd
