Anybody build 4 cylinder or 6 cylinder rat rods?

So I have never ever had a V8 engine in anything I have owned...

I was wondering if anybody else on here has every built a 4 banger or a 6 cylinder rat rod??

My Willys Jeep from 2014 era...

This is from my 1953 Chevy 1 ton I rebuilt and sold...2016 time frame...

I even did a partial build on here of a 1953 fender-less truck and that had a 235 Chevy in it...cant find any pics of it but it looked so hideous I sold it...

I would love to see if anybody on here have built some small motored rat rods...

I have a perfectly good 4.3 V6 I've thought of putting in several vehicles, including my 28 RPU. However, I concluded that it would still look and sound like a V6 and just wouldn't be enough of a hot rod, so I'm using a 283.

I had a 235 and powerglide in my 62 Bel Air. I really wanted to keep it and tried desperately, but blew it up 4 times. Now the car has a 355 and Turbo 350 and it's much more fun and enjoyable to drive, I wish I had done that from the start now.

The unusual stuff is fun, but I still prefer 8 cylinders.

What I've learned with my 455 Buick is that unusual engines are a lot of fun but they're a lot more expensive.

I've got a 225 Slant Six in this '29 Chevy Roadster pickup and there is a 292 Chevy 6 in this Reo. Sold it a few years ago.

I had a couple of Buick V6 powered Jeep’s that were fun. I put a Buick V6 in a Toyota pickup, probably twice as much HP and torque as the stock 4 cylinder.

My baby boy had a early 80’s Chevy C 10 pickup with a 4.3. Had dual exhaust with some kind of turbo mufflers, that thing had a throaty roar like a V8. It wasn’t exactly the same sound, but it didn’t have that six cylinder sound, either.

I would love to have a straight 8 flat head Chrysler engine in one. But no kidding, a lot more $$ than a SBC for sure.

I'll lead you astray with my I6 story. I have put a Chrysler flathead 6 in a Massey-Harris #33 tractor.

Mike, they were Hurst recap cheater slicks with extra grooves. Shortly after I got them the guys quit the business.

I bought the shortblock off of Ebay a few years back. It was built by MDS Racing in Texas. Bored .030 over, Wiseco pistons, Crower rods, balanced and blueprinted. BoPort did the head before he got famous so I got it cheap! T3 turbo, log manifold, rotated and gutted upper and ported lower manifolds. Brown top injectors, big VAM, LA3 ECU. Estimated 300+ hp. TC T-5 and 8" Maverick rear. Built the whole car for $5K. An absolute blast to drive! I call it a 300 hp go-kart.
