I know what you mean about a short rodding season. Florida has it's drawbacks, but being able to use even an open roadster 12 months a year makes up for most of them. I could NEVER go back to snow and ice.:eek: If it gets down to 60 now I freeze my tail off.

Well I live in Indiana so it is hit and miss in the winter. I do have a heater but I also have BF Goodrich drag radials on it so it doesnt see snow. Like I am afraid it is going to rust. Lol. It does get a little drafty when it is cold so I dress warm and have the heater on high!!
Lived in Florida for 5 years and man do I ever miss it. Nothing like sitting under the car port on Christmas day in a t-shirt and shorts doing 12 oz curls!!!

Y'all can SHUT UP and quit rubbin' it in!!!:p

Regards,
Shea:)

This was my DD for about a year....rain sleet snow...90 plus heat...it didn't matter, because this was all I to drive

Well last winter (when there was NO snow on the roads) I drove my 29 sedan several 60 mile round trip drives to work and to pick up my oldest son ! It was between 25 and 35 deg.:eek:Only have a windsheild !Was dressed in my carharts and was a blast! People were looking at me like "WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU " ??? Didn't care it was fun!:D

I didnt do it often, but when I had my Jeep I would usually do a few doorless/topless tours in the winter just for sh!ts and giggles. And yoru right some of the looks you get from people are pretty funny.

I did drive a 75 CJ5 for one winter after high school. the soft top had the whole rear window blown out of it and the heater only worked on defrost. I cut holes in the bottom of a cold weather sleeping bag and wore that when it was below 0. Talk about funny looks!

We're in Canada (Manitoba, which is colder than southern Ontario :D). My oldest kid acquired her drivers' license this year and so has the keys for our van...I plan to daily drive my '50 through to the beginning of November.

The heater works great and I've rigged a strong 2 speed fan - I'm using it even now (end of August) in the AM when its below 10* C (~ 50* F??). The major limiting factor will be snow, and then she comes off the road.

Our winters are way too tough to consider driving this thing for 12 months.

Im at a cross roads right now. I have a 94 GMC that is somewhat dependable but everytime something does go wrong its always expensive. Sensors for this and that and modules and relays............. Im sick of this electronic stuff! Im seriously considering buying an old truck for a d.d. The type of truck that when something goes wrong you can fix it in the garage yourself instead of taking it somewhere to have a computer hooked up to it to fix it. I live in a cold climate winter area too but have had older cars and trucks for d.d.s before with no problems.
