ive been watching the truck series since they started with the # 3 goodwrench truck, #16 papa johns truck and others like that... the first couple years they ran they had a 15 or so break @ halfway cause alot of the tracks they went to didnt have big enough pitroads for everyone... the trucks rule!!!!

Well first thanks guys, it's the fans like you guys that support my family.

Unfornately, the one cup team we build for didn't make that 500, disappointing after all the effort we put into the cars this winter, and the 10 hours we spent fixing a car last saturday night. I can agree with some of you about it's boring now and being partial to some drivers, but it's about entertainment, so Tony Stewart draws a crowd, so Tony Stewart pushes the envelop. When I bitc about it, I get the same answer, things change, change with it or get left behind.

We build for all three series, but my favorite is the truck series, I love to build them, and don't mind fixing them because they are out there beating, racing, and proving they can drive or proving they STILL can drive, a good mixture of young and old. They're not getting a big paycheck to ride around and like Busch, you can still twist the bodies up and try new things, something that is long gone with the COT.

I have to ask....what team didn't make the 500? I was upset (depressed) that Schrader didn't make it this year. I've liked him since the day I was in the garage area at Nazareth for one of the Busch races ('93 or around there). Just one of thoses incidents where you had to be there to appreciate it.....but it ended up with Schrader busting on one of the officials after just coming off the track and having everyone near by laughing their @$$es off.

As far as the COT....I'm not crazy about them, but at least they resemble the older cars a little in their being more boxy then the previous version used the last few years. The old cars (and from what I've seen the COT) move so much air that the "slingshot" pass can be used again by a single car, rather then the necessity of having 3 or more cars lined up to make a pass. Also with the way the previous cars were "tweaked" or as you put it, twisted...they almost looked like a banana with the front pushed over and the rear section pushed over to the right.....just didn't look right to an old timer like me who liked the idea of using a "body in white" to build a car and only making slight modifications that involved closing up the gaps in the panels or slightly rolling the wheel well openings so the air would flow smoother. Yes, Junior Johnson had the Banana car back in 65 or 66, but Nascar put a stop to that after one of two races and the cars more resembled the cars that rolled off the assembly line. Personally I think Nascar should get rid of the wing on the COT and throw a 4 or 5 inch high flat blade on the trunk lid (at about a 30 degree angle) and then make them run on tires that are about 2 inches narrower. Then the driver would be more involved with making the car go around the track rather then relying on the air.

OK..I'll shut up now. Just one mans opinion on the new cars versus the previous cars...

We build for the wood brothers and jtg racing. It was a little disappointing but with the COT we can only do so much as far as fabricating, pretty much if it goes through tech, we've done our job. I can see the safety side of things but the small tolerances can drive you crazy.

I like twisting the bodies up, it's a challenge, but as long as they stay metal, that's really all I care. Well, heading out to the bar to watch the truck race, check out 20 and 21 trucks, we'll see how our package works out, has looked good in practice. Take it easy guys, Scott
