Asphalt Angels

I guess the "Asphalt Angels" car club is the oldest club in Virginia. I remember they raced a Bantum altered in the mid 1960s. 54 years ago they promoted a custom car show and are still doing the show each year even tho the club doesn't appear to be very active otherwise. You know it's an old club when to list of deceased members is longer than the current list of active members.

This event was at the Meadow Event park building. Actually kind of small for a car show so it was crowded making it difficult to take pictures without people in them.

Sportster Bobber was interesting in that the throttle was on the left handle bar. Reminded me of an old friend years ago that had lost his right arm in a crash so he built a Kaw with the throttle and clutch lever on the left side bar and cut the right side bar off, the clutch lever rotated with the throttle. People would say you can't ride that and he would say "It will never be stolen."

The white Model A was ver nice but IMHO the rear tires are ridiculous.

In the preveious post the twin engines are 572 cu. in. Keith Black motors.

Outside there were some over priced projects for sale. Possible exception was the 72 Chevy short bed for 3500.

Chevy pickup looks to be a 73 and later body style, just looking at pic I'm thinking 78-79.
