I seen this on my wife's Facebook this morning
This seems to be a little extreme to me

Facebook can take things out of context or exaggerate. So I googled it, and I found this:

Diesel-fueled trucks transporting cargo destined to or coming from California’s ports and intermodal rail yards (including bobtails and transporting chassis) must be registered in the statewide Drayage Truck Registry prior to entry. Drayage fleets must comply with requirements by operating only vehicles with 2007 MY engines or newer.

It's from here: http://www.arb.ca.gov/msprog/onrdiesel/documents/multirule.pdf

I believe that's only if your going to the port.

What surprises me is that they don't require us pick ups to go into the scales.

SHhhhhhhhhh.... Not so loud.

In Ontario you get scaled if your heavy enough, or someone is having a bad day. What your driving really doesn't matter, the rules and laws are so convoluted they can make them say anything they want, and you'll be wrong, I'm not kidding. If you have the time, look up Ontario MTO truck trailer rules and regs. Very entertaining if you don't have to live by them.:(

It's partially true- you have to have minimum 2007 emissions equipment no matter how old the truck. That means a Diesel Particle Filter, or DPF, at the least plus everything else that 2007 model trucks have as emissions equipment. So if you have a say 2000 model truck, you have to retrofit it to 2007 emission standards. The year keeps rising, too. In a couple of years, you'll have to meet 2010 requirements.

CA gets away with crap like that. The commie CARB can set whatever rules they want, and nobody can do anything about it. Somehow they got an exemption from the EPA and are allowed to set their own rules. Bunch of BS if you ask me.

I won't ever go back to CA in a truck. They are so stupid there it's unbelievable. You can't idle a truck to run AC or heat for a human, but if you don't run AC or heat for an animal like a dog or cat you can get locked up and fined for animal cruelty. They have very little respect for a human life if they drive a truck.

I better hush before I really get started on what I really think.....:mad::mad::mad::mad::mad:

Well, all that cheap Chinese junk they sell at Wal-mart is gonna be a little more expensive now. Don't they already have a problem with product backing up at their ports? Somebody is gonna make a business of shuttling stuff to the Nevada border, and back.

A lot of companies have quit going to CA for that reason. I have a friend leased to Landstar, last time there were told not to come back in their 2005 truck unless it had a newer 2007 engine put in it. Our company won't even dispatch a truck older than a 2010 out there. Companies there have either had to upgrade older trucks, buy newer ones, or go out of business. CA has always been Aholes toward truckers, even more so now. Nothing against the good people that live there, just their politicians are stupid. Would be a great place without their politicians.....

Wow ! That is really a bunch of $^%&-*&^.. A few years ago,I wanted to be a owner /operator , but there was to much paper-work and rules ect. Seems, like things are getting worst.
